They would never do this because there matchmaking expands quite significantly once you have been in the queue for a bit.

How would that be different from before with the legend and amber icons after the game?

At least if they showed it you’d get confirmation and can be like, oh thank god, I’m not insane. That guardian really was useless.

The numbers mean nothing, especially the way some players jump from alt account to alt account to beat on lower grade players.

Pvp…brings out the bully in most of us it seems.

IMO, the only thing they should show is your team’s average MMR and the opposing team’s average MMR. That’s effectively what decides the expected outcome. Show these numbers at the end of the match (starting average and ending average after rating changes).

Showing rating isn’t necessary. Showing everyone’s stats and contributions though would be rather informative and helpful. Specially pointing out how many points from deaths players have contributed to the other team as well as assessing performance within roles.

When I start playing with players who have 200 ratings less than me, then I know it’s probably time to stop playing. I don’t want to have to carry those people. It’s annoying having to add everyone in the game to check each time. And the friends/guild leaderboard doesn’t always update fast enough.

Personally I would love it since it would help me understand the matchmaking system a bit more. It’s also kind of a relief when you’ve just been completely destroyed in a match and trying to make sense of it to improve, and then notice the odds were stacked pretty heavily against you to start with.

Also gives us a more solid idea on how well matchmaker is or isn’t working, and provide better feedback rather than making blind assumptions. People can already look up another player’s rating yet personally I have not noticed people going around looking people’s ratings and trolling them about it.

I’m of the opinion that providing more information is better.

Had folks like this person in LoL way long ago, we had report options in that game that handed out suspensions after enough reports for afking for such a reason.

It’s probably better that for now rating and even badges are hidden from the match view, but I could see the implementation if SPvP grows a lot more, and hopefully some actual ranked suspensions after reporting as well.

Lolwat. If there’s no one else at 1900 or 1800 or even at minimum 1700 playing, and everyone I get in games are 1600 or 1500, shouldn’t you be thanking me for stopping my play so I don’t unecessarily carry people higher than they deserve? Or if they’re unfortunate enough to be placed against me, unfairly ruining their rating cause of low population at my level?

Afking would ruin my rating though there are times when I stopped carrying simply because my team was so bad they didn’t deserve me breaking my back for them. I don’t mind if I drop a few ranks on the leaderboard, I can always get them back again.

I 2nd the idea to show a team’s average mmr rating after a match has conclude. I play at odd times, sometimes it feels like the queue is forcing lower rank and higher rank players to fight against each other when less people are queuing.

In the past, when i fought against a legendary or diamond player and decent…I felt satisfied. Scratch that, I felt encourage to keep pvping. With the unknown divisions, I don’t feel motivated to PvP because I don’t know whether someone is in the same division than me or higher. I’m sure this isn’t the same for everyone but the reason I play pvp is to better myself at people that are equal or same division I’m in. With no indicators of my opponents division, I have significantly reduce the number of games I participate in for Season 5.

Rating wouldn’t prove anything with the way matchmaking is currently…

Ele needed on every team… a Necro with no support, other than those 2 thieves on his team.. there’s bigger problems than worrying about whether or not our teamates see’s each other’s numbers.

Showing both teams’ average pre-match rating after the match would be nice indeed to provide the context for a game’s result. It would certainly help evaluate our own performance (“oh of course it was a stomp, the average rating was 200 points higher” – should never happen but you never know) – as well as give a bit more insight into the matchmaker. We’ve already had an indication of individual skill-level post-match before – the badges. Never have I once seen anyone get harassed because of it in the past. And if anyone does – block+report ought to be sufficient. Individual pre-match ratings would be an even better reality check than showing the (geometric?) average rating – “am I going insane or did I really have to carry hard this match?”.

Of course, this won’t address any of the other issues there may have been with the match, such as compositions – but assuming there were no other issues, this would be something that is good to have, and I thus consider good to have regardless of the other issues. More data usually helps.

On that note – it would also be nice to see your current queue MMR range if the queue is taking longer than x time, would help people dodge the skewed matches in the first place and avoid a lot of grief.

actually if the friend list updates fast enough we can check the friends leaderboard for the rating.

but for soem reason it seems very slow.

They will never do it because the games they claim are outliers or system glitches where one team has a large advantage average MMR wise happen much more then they care to admit. They don’t want to make it easier for the player base to find out.

Or they wont do it because they dont want the special snowflakes who THINK the system is out to get them to quit after they’ve realized they aren’t very good and dont have anyone but themselves to blame.
