Steal Nerf
Bountiful theft has always been like that.

It indeed always has been like that, the third boon in the line will get transfered to you with Bountiful Theft + Larc Strike
bountiful theft was granting u as much might as u removed
and priority was always aegis stability
the real nerf is elites actually reapplying stab so steal is kind of useless vs elite stab now

I know, you might actually have to take Dagger Storm to crap all over a necro instead of just crapping on him outright.

Sure, if the necro is blind enough to not see the kittenstorm of daggers coming their way and that rotating thief. I guess the autoattack pros will get shredded. But I always guessed that semi kittened necroes will avoid that

And does the necro do in the meantime? Either slowly walk away or exit lich form, neither of which are ideal.

And then you realized what happens after 1 successful CC to a thief in DS.
We can play this game all day if you’d like but you’d lose miserably. So just take it from us who actually “teef” mmkay
Uh... I haven’t tested it, but surely since corrupt boon corrupts all stacks of a boon it corrupts, and stability is a) not a stun breaker and b) you might not still be getting the stability from dagger storm if you were interrupted (again, haven’t tested, either way point a. holds up), that corrupt boon or dark path will still fear a dagger storming thief for the full 1-2 seconds depending on duration modifiers, and of course interrupt the cast and stopping the reflection.

Except….lich form is the entire reason power necro is even a thing……and thief is not a class carried by an elite. Now remind me, what’s the stunbreak cooldowns for a necromancer again? And do they teleport him twice, break stun twice, and clear conditions on a single utility skill? Oh that’s right, death shroud, that seems so helpful it must be why one team got trained to the ground in a recent tournament.
Remind me, how many power necros were in the recent tournaments? Oh right. Certainly many more than thieves.

Nop, if an ele has 12 stacks, then applies 1 more stack from fire attunement, your steal will remove the 13 stacks and grant you and your allies 1 stack. If the ele instead applied 3 stacks with a area might combo, your steal will remove the 15 stacks and grant you and your allies 3 stacks. It’s the last application that you get – and that last application can be more than one stack.
Also, aegis is not the highest priority because it can block steal if the target has it with stability and protection together.

And as mesmer, thief already had it way too good (power block doesn’t work on them, stupid Anet), so any nerfs to thief just brings a smile to my face.

No.
P.S. It has never granted the full might stacks stolen… ever. The only thing that does is Larcenous Strike.

So we’re talking about both classes stun breaks of 50 and 60 seconds now? Or are we talking about the only utility skills that thieves use? SS is on a 50 second CD and is one of the ONLY condi clears thieves run.
We can talk all day about power necros and the injustice you have received, but you shouldn’t be losing to thieves 1v1 on a necro in PvP.

Who cares about 1v1 this is not a 1v1 game.
Shadowstep is the only utility the thief runs because it does the job of 3 of other classes utilities and more. Tell me what other stunbreak in the game breaks stuns twice, clears conditions, and teleports you twice all in one. Tell me what other class in the game has all his heals remove some conditions.
I mean they nerfed ranger endurance regen, yet something like feline grace, which was way better even than a 50% endurance regen minor trait that a ranger had, has remained ingame paired with vigor on withdraw and evade spam.

This change is good overall, but your logic baffles me. I mean, thieves are not OP, they are just crazily good against mesmers (just like necro>engineer), so I would prefer that nerfs go in that direction instead. Especially because I play both professions.

Dude, I have so many necros/rangers going full ham into my reflect, I wouldn’t be even surprised if the necro was that blind.

On SD necro is one of the easiest match-up for a thief. That or every necro I run into is terrible. Anyway, there’s no reason of caring about 1v1 in a 5v5 game mode.

Power necro and power ranger are two builds that seem to attract bad players, just like dagger thief or hammer warrior used to be. I think that’s one of the main reason their downstate are so good: they are expected to use it a lot.
