No it doesn’t. Killshot, volley, and some pistol thief skills track through stealth.

Actually its not just Rapid Fire, ranger’s lbow has very different mechanics, every attack seems to channel into the next – you can get 2 casts tracking a target in stealth. Also if you notice you can’t Stow Weapon to cancel attacks (you get the full CD) – because of this “every attack is a channel” issue.
Saying it is just Rapid Fire is incorrect, all the attacks channel – not sure if its a feature or bug though.

Daggerstorm and reflect the damage back or smokescreen and block all the damage.

So really, most of the “problems” with rangers exist in abundance among other classes as well, it’s just that people decided ranger will be the focus of their, “muh stealth, rangers OP” arguments.
They’re still wet paper. SoS is nice for 1v1s, but it’s little more than a panic button otherwise.

what surprise me about this game is how many skill do what they are not suppose to do. It is sad because that is what many other mmo game company call BROKEN; it should not be doing that, so what are their action? they fix it! That is what need be done! fix the problem, fix what is happening incorrectly. IF the description do not say it doing it, it should not do it, period! That is what call serious company who is serious about fixing serious problems, and fixing broken problems.
Not ignore it, Not ignore player who is telling them that something is not working; broken, Not ignore player who care for problem to be fix. Example; you design and program a door to open wide when you push a button, so you push the button for the door to open wide, but instead it open small; what should you do? ignore it? find it ok; cool? fix the problem? or continue to ignore it and find it ok?
Mmo game company pay a lot of money to people to find bug, to find what is broken, to find problem so they can fix it. Also, if game company do not want hire; pay people to find bug, find problem and report bug, report problem than the only one who is left is their player. Their player pay a lot of money to help the game company stay in business. It is not even their player job to find and report bug and problem in the game but they do anyway, so the game company can fix what is broken and fix problem so the game can improve and be prosper better.

You need to work with us gamer arena net. This issue is easy. If you’re D/P, just Headshot/steal to interrupt first, then proceed.

As long as you rely on stealth only for dmg mitigation, you remain the noob that dies to pew pew.

ALL channeled skills if you stealth while already channeling are gonna hit you in stealth…had been like this since…forever…
Looks like some people realized this after more than 2 years…
A thief worth their salt will have the situational awareness to notice a Rapid Fire incoming when stealthing up. Yes, you’ve got to blow your dodges on it but it shouldn’t be a surprise any more that Rapid Fire will continue to channel. In fact, before the duration was cut the RF would track for even longer! Try stealthing up when it’s on cooldown or while out of LoS.
Anyways, this is literally the last thing about Rapid Fire that will be nerfed. That would require diving into all channeled skills which is seriously unlikely. Channeled skills tracking in stealth is working as intended, it is not a bug and does not need fixing.

Even if it -is- a bug, it’s decent counterplay to stealth as a mechanic; counterplay that people believe is lacking for a target lock breaker.

I used to think (build op, pls nerf) like you, but then I took a nerf to the knee.
The issue is that you’re not stealthing before he casts his attack. This is a mechanic of stealth not a bug in ranger skill usage or any other skill for that matter.

When fighting a longbow ranger, you should always be in a position to LoS when needed anyway.

As for the OP: this isn’t a thief thing. It is about anyone who uses stealth. The question is whether channeled skills should still hit anyone in stealth. My opinion is no.

Instead of stealth against the pew pew ranger… why not blind spam him? Or head shot him? If you have enough initiative for a BP/HS combo… you have enough for a head shot or two.
We brought this up multiple times over multiple years. I think it’s safe to say that they’re not changing it. Learn which skills are channelled and which are not. Learn to properly time your stealths and evades.
The entire Thief community already figured this out a long time ago.

I know pretty well what to say and how to deal with them. But if you coming to forum crying that invis doesnt grant you invul and that you want to be untouchable during that time then i dont see any point explaining stuff to person like that.
Its not like stealth inst broken to begin with.. Warrior loses his adrenaline on missed burst, why invis doesnt break at this point when someone evade/block you? Theres no reward for outplaying someone in invis. But f logic
I play longbow ranger. The other day I Hunter Shot myself into stealth and about half a second later I get Moa’d by the enemy mesmer, despite being in stealth, because he had begun his cast before I had entered stealth. Is it annoying? Possibly. Should it be “fixed?” No. Stealth is already an extremely powerful tool and crutch. It doesn’t break on a blocked or evaded attack and serves as a great disengagement tool.
