Stop Blaming Anet :Unranked Vs. Ranked
We blamed Anet because we used to have separate cues for Solo and Team.
They removed it for silly reasons like “it’d scatter the community base”.
Basically what this sentence means is that so few people are playing Team Arena, that they need to throw soloers inside so those “Team E-sport guys” can farm us soloers.
We have absolutely full credit to blame Anet.
I blame anet because before the patch I used to get quality match ups. I used to play against people of my skill, and as I won more I climbed up the ladderboard, facing people of higher mmr, getting crushed but learning.
Now every time I win, the next match I am expected to lose because I am forced to carry other 4 players. If there is a winning streak, then the next day losing streak begins, usually amounting more losses than I’ve won on previous days. If you do manage to win by carrying, the next queue will put you up with people who have no idea, eventually making you to lose.
I don’t care about leaderboard and stuff, but I like to play pvp with and against people of my skill, or higher so that I can learn. Even with their newly designed queue system, my queue pops after 6~8 minutes, and does not even give me good match ups. I don’t mind going against premades, but only if my team mates are competent enough, which the match making system completely ignores.
In short, Anet so messed up on their pvp MM.

As others have said, we blame ANET because:
1. They took away solo and team queue
2. They introduced a matchmaking system that is worse than before
3. They stubbornly continue to have profession dailies which just adds to the poor matchmaking.
Unranked and Ranked exist for this reason:
- Play Unranked when you are running with casuals and/or teaching team mates that are not able to compete competitively. This way no one gets kittened off when they lose.
- Play Ranked when you have assimilated a proper team and are confident that you’re ready to play competitively. The real teams are in the game for leaderboards, not reward tracks in unranked.
The problem that you are experiencing occurs when a good team is teaching one or two new guys and join Unranked. Quite often the new guys aren’t even new players, they are r80 dragons and just new to the team in general so you’re still facing a well coordinated team on a TS3. These teams are not in Unranked because they are trolling or farming you, they are just testing out play with new team mates.
The issue here is not Unranked vs. Ranked. These two different game modes needed to happen, to delude the saltiness of community losses. The real issue is that solo was combined with team ques. There are so many problems with this and the community has voiced them multiple times in this forum, therefore there is no reason to go back in to them here.
But I will state the obvious solution:
- Bring back Solo Que, make it ranked only
- Make Team Que ranked only
- Turn hotjoin/practice in to what Unranked is now

Some of those teams just enjoy “farming” the win credits, instead of caring about the meaningless leaderboard or rating or “fair fight”. Yes, some people don’t play PVP for fun, they play for credits, or maybe title.
Merging Solo and Team Q is the worst decision Anet makes yet again.
I meet Premade after Premade in ranked as I solo que Ranked. My work schedule is not on par with my guild members most the time.
So to try and compete or get better in ranked I am resorted to Solo queing, and time after times its a 3- 5 man premade beating up on a bunch of solo que players.
You join as a Team you should fight a Team! Let me que matches while outside farming mines and i’ll be more than happy to wait for a fair match.

I want to see , what they can create in a friendly – non ’’blame’’ enviroment :P

I’m all for bringing solo queue back but some people really at looking back at the old solo queue with too much nostalgia. What solo queue would do for most current solo people is increase there competitiveness of the average match. What it will not do for most is increase there winning percentage. Once they got rid of synch queueing most people in the old solo queue were in the 45-55% winning percentage area which is where most people that solo queue the current rated are. Solo queue returning is not some magical panacea for the solo player. Most would find something else to cry about.

I wish I had known this amazing place called soloq everyone seems to remember. I can only remember lame rotations, 4v5s, rage quitters, and having an ESL player in the opposite team regularly when I was not even rank 80.
Seriously though, there is not enough people playing this game. Before that changes, we will never have a MM system working perfectly. You are chasing leprechauns.
