Gradually as my wins and rating increased, I started having newer and newer players on my team, and the teams I was assigned to started losing at games with scores like 500 to 250. Every game.

Also I saw we were often up against coordinated teams that were very efficient.

SO…do I now stop tourneys until an actual solo-only queue is implemented?

I am obviously not going to win any more. I cannot carry an entire low team with my 35 ranking alone.

Sound like your screwed. People say find a team like that is the easiest thing you can do in this game.

Finding “a team” isn’t really a reasonable option. 95% of the teams you’re playing against are probably a loose collection of people who met in a free tourney a few months ago and added each other to contacts.

You’re best option is probably to do the same thing. Keep solo queueing, and whenever you get a teammate who knows what he’s doing, ask if you can add him to your friends list. They’ll say yes because they’re looking for the same thing. It takes some time but eventually you’ll have a deep enough pool of contacts to form at least partial teams most times you play.

There are alot of players in your situation. There is no LFG system that can help these players find a group around their skill level to be able to enjoy tPvP the way it was meant to be played.

Imo, there should be a subforum devoted to finding and a new team and for teams to find new players.
An in-game way of finding a group would be even better, though.

Cause it is just easy to find people to play with on the same schedule as you…

This is the problem with the MMR in GW2, everyone starts at a medium point in the ladder, then gets knocked down by premades, then climbs their way back up the ladder just to loose again because they get put onto teams with new players that are just starting at that middle point + they have to face premades again.

Until they update the pvp interface to display everything that can be said over VOIP (# of enemies at points where allies are fighting, which allies are roaming/on back point, who’s timewarp that is, ect…), premades will always dominate solo queue players. Either this has to happen, or solo queue. But I think it would be much healthier for the game to just give the players the option to react and see what’s actually happening on a global scale. I don’t see the point of this iron curtain between the the player and what’s actually going on in the game. ITS COMMUNISM! lol ;p …but seriously pls shove more immersion down my throat, I didn’t know i was playing skyrim.

^ What he said. I’ve recently started tournaments again and as long as you know what you’re doing, it’s quite easy to form a team or a list of players you can play as a team with.

What I usually do/did was solo queue and if I had a good team and we won, I’d right click their name on the scoreboard and add them to party (you don’t have to add them all, just the players you think were good). When the game ends and they’re back to the heart of the mist, people would usually accept the party invite (assuming they didn’t think you were bad) and then you’d play the next few games together. If things go well, ta-da you have some new friends!

Whether you take that to the next level and begin voice-comm-ing or what not is up to you

it’s a pug’s life atm, just find a friend or two to queue up with. then you’ll have a good challenge against teams & you won’t absolutely steamroll pugs.

fun & learning should be the objective atm, there is nothing tangible to fight for beyond that. things will amp up when the ladder is revealed, but even then we need a proper GvG queue before teams come back in force.

It’s honestly not that I run into premades.. It’s that I get queued up with rank 10s against premades.

Ironically, if you occasionally premade, and therefore win at a high clip for a while, it gets even WORSE for you when you solo Q. YOu will be grouped with lower ranked people and net mmr against decently talented teams. And im sorry, you cant carry 4 bads against 5 medium skilled players, you cant be everywhere at once.

Don’t stop queing. That is a poor solution. Like many have said, keep plugging away, and try to teach the lowbies that you get teamed with a coherent strategy. Having a friend or 2 to que with will help too. If you can coordinate at least a couple of decent players, then you will have a shot, and occasionally you will come accross a low ranked player that is actually competent.

Ran into same problem. (not like 50% premades…more like 90% premades, at one point i counted 9 in a row) Back to hotjoin for now…then to custom arenas when thats an option. In those rare scenerios some friends are on you can try your luck at it. But untill they split solo/duo and 5’s…..hot join is the only option unless you like pointlessly getting beat and gaining nothing.

like it´s easy to find a team… I am searching since start of december, but pvp is almost dead

Its pure luck that you faced some premades there are very few teams playing right now in NA. If anything there is more newbs then ever playing because of laurels . I win all the time solo queue I rarely see a full group that isn’t like 5 people under rank 20 grouping up to get there free laurel. What groups?

cast people …. take people in ur fl who u know fulfill their roles best (of course u must have eyes on who is good and who not , or who makes mistakes and tell em that they made mistakes so they can improve… movement, targeting , holding a point):
for example: 1 bunker mid 2 roamer 1 closepointholder 1 healsupport

Nothing better than playing 3 games against the same premade in a row. They were all rank 30-50 and were all friends while we were 1-23 randoms

Yah. I think many experience this “issue”.
I for one am constantly getting grouped against premades in 35+ and I am currently still rank 23.
Sometimes however, we manage to actually win against the premade and those game are pretty interesting and exciting. So it might be that i get grouped against rank 40’s with incredibly bad MMR.
I might start adding players to my friendlist though!

A friend and I went into a tourny the other day and got stomped; seriously, our team score went:

But then my friend does something brilliant: he invited all of the ENEMY players to our party! We only got one to join, but things went significantly uphill from there, and we gathered more good players along the way. The point is, there a things you can do to have a better tourny experience that have nothing to do with the questionable MMR.

I think a better solution is to have voice comm built into the game. It boggles my mind that any modern online game does not have built-in voice comm. It’s impossible to effectively fight and communicate via typing/text at the same time.
