And what would you do with a team of 4 players? They need a 5th.

A team of 3 could use two solo players, or a team of 2.

If you think you don’t have good odds against a team because you play solo, you’re gonna have to fight fire with fire. Make a team!

My dear, this is a structured PvP challenge.
In my opinion it is a place for dedicated to PvP players.
Your point of view is a little bit broken and fits more to PvE world than PvP.
If you know your skill and you understand that arena games are based on cooperation of 5 people, then you would already know that mixing 3+2 or 3+1+1 is not going to work, unless you are lucky.
The real challenge is when you get only solo players that have zero cooperation and are really relaying on each other and playing against another singles or organized parties of 5 vs another parties of 5. Two different pools of players that should stay in their range and not face anything that is not equal.

San Francisco in the middle sixties was a very special time and place to be a part of.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s a premade team or not. If all five players on a team of soloers are trying their best to communicate and work together, they have a rather good chance at winning. It doesn’t take a PhD in Communications to use the /team chat to call incomings, and glance at the minimap every once in a while.

Sure, a team with vocal communication is going to have an advantage, but that doesn’t mean they are guaranteed to win. They just don’t have to deal with getting saboteurs.

Are you suggesting players should not be able to queue for a PvP match unless they are either alone, or in a party of exactly 5 players?

We should only allow these matches to happen:

5 ~ 5 (only full premade can play with full premade)
11111 ~ 1112 (only soloq can play with max one duo queue)
311 ~ 32 ~ 221 (those roster sizes are compatible)
41 ~ 32

This will avoid the 5 ~ 11111 pug stomp.

Gray out the HP for future condition damage
Already quit PvP. Just log in here and there to troll.

I mentioned this suggestion before:
Take into account the largest group size of a team.
5, 4 and 3 man teams are able to be matched up against eachother.
Duos and soloists only against eachother.
What this means is:
311 can face a 5
But 221 can never face a 32 311 41 nor 5.
And 11111 can only face other 11111 1112 or 122. If you add this dynamic into your queue, soloists don’t need their own queue as the queue would pretty much do it automatically, except for using 2s and 1s as fillers for the 3s and 4s.
A 3 man group still stands a chance of doing well against full premade, and even if they don’t succeed the probability will have put them in the 21-39% where even reaching 300 points will ensure they don’t lose points (with 400-499 also rendering a point).

Teamq with Teamspeak is much, much more than calling out incs and glancing at the minimap. In fact, those two things are the least important.

People use Teamspeak to coordinate the bursts/ stuns/ fears / immobilize and most importantly…to say when they (or the enemy) blew an important cool-down or are about to go down, so the team can group rezz or burst.

That is why teamq is so much different than soloq. In upper level soloq, everyone usually wants to win, but have different opinions on how to get there. To be great at soloq in any game, you have to guess what your enemy is going to do “AND” your teammates. It’s an exercise is skill, leadership and social psychology and a completely different dynamic than Teamq.

If a skilled Teamq loses to a skilled soloq – well…you just gave a lifetime memory to those puggers

People are being disingenuous to suggest it’s just a simple as calling rotations. Premades have a huge advantage of optimizing team class composition AND complimentary builds. Showing up with a team you have structured and set up builds and practiced with and are discussing strategy and calling combos is an easy win against a pick up group of statistically equal players

It’s a joke to pretend the solo player showing up in a slapped together pug isn’t at a disadvantage.

Matches before had much longer queues and were generally better games. Plus you could soloQ and actually play other solo teams. (Maybe that’s why they were better?)

I really think they need to adjust queue times for bigger parties. Dramatically. Its stupid that a full 5 man can go against a bunch of solos. At a certain point it’s just farming.

For teams. Q for solo will be actually shorter, because teams will be excluded. And since solo players are majority – why solo players should be forced to be in constant disadvantage?

Reading your summary made me wonder why I even bother trying to solo. IT IS SO HARD to guess the other team, and your own team, while trying to avoid the zerg piling on top of you.

A game should always be nearly 50% chance to win prediction and solos should never face premade, coordinated groups of 2 or more. Logic should win out here. Let us wait longer for better matchups. Don’t stick us in a 10 minute horrible game just to keep the queues down, I’d rather wait part of that time in the queue than have a miserable gaming experience. We should not have to point this out, the goal of matchmaking should be fair, fun matches. Matches that are not fair, are not fun.

i mean in team chat. voice coms are necessary for best performance.
