Since the feature pack for a while pvp was better than ever, I always liked bigger matches and finding 10v10 games wasn’t so easy before the change, then for a time it became standard…. More recently however the only matches that appear that aren’t boring 5v5s when I check are these stupid rank farms! I have no interest in playing these as it defeats the purpose of playing at all, it has harmed the community & I’d like to see these gone and not have to keep hitting the report button, if Anet even pays any attention, perhaps not or they wouldn’t have existed in the first place! At first when the legit 10v10 arenas vanished I would grit my teeth and play the 5v5s to get my dailies and monthlies but now I can’t be bothered anymore, a pity as the dungeon tracks are lucrative, a chunk of my Ascended drops were from these! Yet that is the problem, these lowlives are exploiting this generous reward system leaving the rest of us that actually want to play proper matches stuck with 5v5s.
PvP was already a questionable chunk of the game in how well balanced it is, I never will call it sPvP seeing as it’s far from structured, newcomers to an in progress match will side with the winning team imbalancing the match further, the ‘autobalance’ is useless and just rewards the glory seekers by giving them volunteer credit so the outcome of the match is a win always for them! So aside from good sportsmanship there’s no reason at all to balance teams! Right now I’d be happy to even get 8v8 games like how it was before the change, congrats with the update, in the first few months you have destroyed PvP! Removing Raid of the Capricorn was a poor choice as having at least some underwater combat gave PvP a bit more variation, something it lacks, the TDM map however was a good addition, quite boring having these domination checkpoints in every other map… So Anet, don’t pat yourselves on the back for the feature pack just yet, you still have a lot of things to fix!

Except the rank farms don’t give any more rank and are just an excuse to get incompetent players to join and donate to their servers.

Unfortunately after the feature patch 5v5 became the standard in hotjoins. Hotjoin used to be fun chaos before that, 8v8s everywhere, capricorn and much more. Now in between Qs you can either 1v1, participate in a 4v5/3v4 spectate auto balance war of a hotjoin, or WvW roam (yawn).

I honestly find it hard to believe people care about rank.

They care for the dungeon tracks that are very lucrative, I myself have got ascended items from them. I’d rather actually play than be paid for exploiting a weak system (At least in games, real life and real cash a different matter!)

Anet are either very slow or very bad at keeping players honest, shame as I believed they were the opposite as their party system unlike most mmorpgs doesn’t split exp and loot meaning players can’t freeload.

Any game can be abused but when it’s being done as brazenly as servers being named rank farms with clear instructions of how to play instead of genuine matches but nothing is done to curb this despite my several reports of servers exploiting the system?
Really lack any respect for Anet with PvP I’ve barely played it at all since the rank farms become so blatant.

P.S They should have kept Capricorn, why have the water pvp training in the mists now if we can’t partake in any water fights now?

I honestly find it hard to believe people care about PvE.

A meta which is exclusively about stacking zerker stats and boons, content that can be easily skipped if you know how to exploit certain glitches, and super epic boss fights where you lure the boss in a corner and spank him down next to a wall.

It was an interesting experiment to make a game which does not utilize holy trinity roles in PvE, but it turned out total garbage. There were MMOs around in 2002 that offered better PvE content than this.

Perhaps though irrelevant regarding pvp and vast majority of the game is pve anyway.
Anyhow one of the esteemed staff replied with this garbage…
