before the celestial amulet buff, classes will use certain amulets for specific roles, berserker, cleric, rabid, soldier etc. when you see a condi engi or necro you know he is using one of the condi amulet. you see a bunker guard you know he using soldier or cleric same for dps (zerker) thief etc. even the shoutbow build use cleric or settler before celestial buff but it wasnt well known in tourney, same for ele (beside FA dps) wasnt seen any use in tourney. but with the celestial buff suddenly every class can be tanky, support and dps (condi/sustain). now put that with a class built to do everything like the ele. now on with the QQ.

Ele reworked will never happen (In the near and mid-far future ie 1-2 years)
So their only other option was to make a viable spec with tempest (LOL yeah we all saw what happend there)
So basically lets just coinflip to take ele out of the meta till they have time to rework the class, or leave it op until they have time to rework the class (and they chose the latter)

I see nothing wrong with Marauder D/D Ele. They would basically be on the same level as other classes.
I don’t want to remove Cele amulet. I just want the Ele to perform the same on Cele like other classes.

Marauder s/f (fresh air) is only slightly better but cannot fill any the rolls of war/theif/mes/ranger. have less survivability, less consistent damge, less mobility.
They are not on the same level as other Marauder classes, there is a lot wrong with Marauder ele.
Well it is more complicated than one or the other. The combination of cele and ele currently is overpowered. They need to find a way to tweak the elementalist so that the cele ele is weaker due to the interaction of benefiting from all stats.
try to play dd fire ele w/o celestial amulet, yes it is not as powerful as with cele but still miles ahead of other classes….

There is only 2 builds using cele amulet, only 1 of which is godly strong, ele… The other Signet necro, which is a build in response to ele and other condi heavy spam.
Every other cele build / class is heavily neutered post 23rd.
Its a class issue, NOT a stat issue.

I love it how all these forum warriors still claim S/F Fresh Air to be bad. If they buff it even more, it will be over the top just like D/D. I’m not scared to fight any pvp build except for D/D ele as fresh air, especially other marauder/berserker builds get rekt vs. fresh air in a 1v1.
The myth of S/F being bad comes from scrub D/D eles that can’t deal with the fact that they actually need to think about their own actions for once while playing fresh air.
It may not be meta as it lacks team support and there are builds that fit better into teamcompositions, but S/F is definitely one of the strongest 1v1 builds if it wasn’t for D/D Eles. ROM would’ve been better off if he played fresh air in ToL instead of bersi warrior, thats for sure.

This is untrue, dd ele on marauder is very strong, join dueling servers that lock out certain amus and ull see that theyre highly capable

Cele Condi Mesmer is fine? Lol.
Cele Signet Necro is fine? Lol.
All other classes suck with cele now, so its debatly whether or not we should blame cele or the professions.
Can’t comment on Cele Mesmer, as I suck with on Mesmer no matter the build. That being said, Cele Signet Necro, while strong, is still not anywhere near the levels of faceroll that is Cele D/D ele.
Damage/Might Stacking: Decent if the Necro can drop you below 50% health.
Condi: Average. The majority of the builds condi damage ironically comes from other classes, particularly if you load up the Necro with burn. This is also because the transferred condi’s use their original sources Condi Damage stat. The condi pressure from boon conversion is mediocre at best, but still decent enough pressure that I’d rank it as average since the build doesn’t have reliable access to Burn like other Cele builds (RNG from boon converting and transferring back to opponents is not a reliable access to the condition).
Sustain: Excellent in 1v1’s. Terrible in any kind of a team fight. This has been more or less a Necro thing even before the Cele Signet Build. Necros with life force are tough cookies to crack in most 1v1 situation, however with no scaling defense they are highly susceptible to any kind of focus fire in team fights. Focus down the necro first is still a good strategy for a reason people.
Mobility: Non-existent. This can be bumped up a little by swapping Spectral Armour with Flesh Wurm, but most still prefer Spectral Armour due to how hit or miss the port on Flesh Wurm can be on some maps. Even with this, the Necros ability to disengage or flee engagements has and likely always will be the worst in game. Couple this with the lack of sustain in team fights mentioned above, and you have a class that doesn’t manage focus fire or have the ability to disengage from it and Necro drops like a rock.
CC/Stability/Stunbreaks: Access to a number of fears, and potential for more fears from converting stab is actually pretty good overall depending on the situation. However the access to fear from boon converting drops significantly the more boons on the target (ie Any class that can spam enough boons to make RNG work in their favour). Necros access to Stab remains almost non-existent. Taking Foot in the Grave to improve CC management is viable, but results in a hefty blow to DPS because it means giving up on Death Perception. This means that Necros absolutely need two stun-break utilities (in this case Plague Sig and Spectral Armour), and once those cool downs are blown they’re more or less sitting ducks to CC chains.
Now, after all of that, will I say Cele Signet Necro is good? Yes, it’s a solid build that is probably one of the best builds for 1v1 at the moment you can find. However it still has the same weaknesses that every Necro build has. Susceptibility to chain CC and no scaling defense to effectively deal with bursts besides just eating it in the face if we’re out of dodges. The build just doesn’t hold up a candle though to what Cele D/D Eles bring to the table.
In my opinion it’s the other classes that need buffs, because when you have 1 ele on enemy team, no prob
when you have 2 eles on enemy team its well crap, let’s attempt to win
when you have 3 eles on enemy team, you’re done for
There is a problem there, that even though you have different classes with their playstyles etc, put 3 d/d eles on opposite teams & it’s adios muchachos
Each class should be able to counter one another, not a “oh just bring 3 eles & you got this match in the bag!”

They have had this kind of bunkering and surviving ability for a while… you would know if you actually PvP’d…
This QQ started recently thanks to the burning update…. lot of classes can bunker like ele, but that comes at the expense of giving up DPS….
With the burning update, ele can now add DPS as they can ramp up their burning damage from all the mightstacking they got…
Its not the cele amulet dude…It just happens to be the optimal amulet to use with this OP spec… they could delete cele amulet and nothing would change… Ele would still be OP with knights or carrion or settlers or w/e… they will continue to be OP until the actual spec is altered, not the freaking amulet.

If you do not like a profession, just play some other profession that you feel it’s great and awesome. This is the best message for developers to investigate why 74% of PvP players choose elementalist (just an example percentage). If elementalist gets nerfed, choose something else to send again a feedback to developers. That way you will always enjoy the game, while learning the best professions in game.

No guys…not gonna happen, double dagger ele is op and double dagger ele is gonna get nerfed and won’t (hopefully) carry bads anymore

I dont know if u played in 2014 but everyone was already complaining before WTS 3 and WTS 2 (Cele Meta). We are complaining about eles for over 9 months. Burning was already ticking quite high and was the way of killing the opponents. Now they just buffed the main weapon by buffing burning. It just got worse so now even more ppl are complaining.
