Stronghold and Courtyard need their own que!
When the pvp community gets big enough, then I would agree. But it isn’t, so no.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
it would be absolutley crazy to put the new Stronghold mode in the same que as conquest or Courtyard maps
Absolutely. This is a really big deal and I think people should be raising awareness better than they have been.

Impliments like these are likely to make the community smaller. The only outcome I can see from this implementation is frustration. Infact, if there were a more organized que system, it might even bring outsiders in. In regards to the whole “scatter the player base” concept, I’ll have to retort by saying that there will be people who are interested in all game modes. I’m sure those people would rather wait a few minutes more to get in the game type they enjoy, than play a game type that frustrates them.

Will there be enough of them to keep each game type afloat and ensure that matches are good?
If the game types are good, people will play them. Forcing people to play game modes they don’t have any interest in for the sake of “good” matches is a joke. Every time I’m playing unranked and courtyard comes up, I roll my eyes and consider quitting for the day. I certainly don’t put in any effort. Does having team mates who would rather be doing anything else make for good matches?
If people want to play a mode, let them – don’t make them.
I agree with Jazz on this one. People will come on their own accord to whatever game type they choose. I personally would probably enjoy all three, I just think its counter productive to have each game type in the same que. Splitting them up would definitely benefit not only the community but the game as a whole.
let’s put all toghether….courtyard, skyhammer, spirit watch even capricorn…and ofc the new almighty stronghold mode
go for a big unique que….do it…no problem..
…since in a couple of months there’s gonna be noone left to play that anymore, aside from pve farmers going for achievements and reward tracks…and they gonna give no kitten no matter what
According with Collin said (min. 11:37) this decision (to split queue or not) will be evaluate with the beta of HoT and players feedback.
And Stronghold and new www map will be available for Everyone.
Good to know.
Good idea could be pick/ban
Baning 1 of 3 map then pick 1 of 2
why ? if they are not in rank queue i don’t see the problem …. if i have not the right build and i lose in unranked… it is not an illness

I got stuck in 7 of these. within 10 games.
the number of players has nothing to do with HOW GOOD the matches will be.
Every match except one, my team got stomped.
Its a completely different mentality, and its so 1 sided its not even funny. There’s no tug or pull due to the map geography, and the way you have to spawn. Its typically whoever wins the first fight wins the game.
If you die, then the enemy has the advatange, then they can rebuff and overpower the rest of the forces, and while you;re rezzing they are powering up.
This isn’t like KOTH or CTF where you are far away, and separated. Its a giant clusterkitten that requires a lot from a team to do well.
People can’t even stay to defend a point in normal matches, and you want random people to do good in a game mode that requires MORE effort, more teamwork, and a better knowledge of the game?
I think the issue is the people who don’t PvP because they don’t like conquest won’t play stronghold because they still have to play conquest. There’s a chance that stronghold can bring new players into PvP that don’t like it at the moment.
I don’t think it’s the right way to go about it. I consider bringing in new players more important than dividing what’s already there. You can always combine them at a later point, but splitting them later will miss the opportunity to get people into stronghold.
The community will never grow as long as players are forced to play conquest.
So yeah, split the queues

I seldom play unranked, specifically because Spirit Watch and Courtyard are included. I’d definitely like to see the mass slaughter game mode have it’s own separate queue.
