Today I had my first go at PVP.

Wow so everyone has equal gear in pvp and is automatically 80? I guess thats good…

Anyway this wasnt about that, I joined a game and immediately started doing well and my team was doing twice as good and I even beat a few ppl then it said something about Auto Balance and in the middle of a big fight with lots of other ppl BAM I suddenly vanish and am back at the starting area of the opposite and heavily losing team, immediately after that half that team just leaves as it probably happened to them too.

Is this a thing? or was I unlucky? Is there nothing in place to just stop ppl leaving? That rly ruined my first experience >_<

Honestly, is there no penalty to leaving a match? are ppl avoiding a bad ratio? does the game even keep count of a win/loss ratio?

yes, the game keeps that count and no there’s no penalty for leaving. I hope there never is. Sometimes your team is hopeless, i.e. no team work, running around like chickens, etc. and in those cases I would bekitten if there was a penalty for leaving.

Unfortunately it’s not a queued game such as matchmaking mode, so there can’t be a penalty. It sucks, but don’t let it bug you too much, just click “I’ll take my chances.” when it auto balances your team and hope for the best lol.

So I guess if the game keeps count of win/loss everyone is always just gonna abandon the heavily losing team so half the games will be pointless rushing? :S

I guess if people care that much for that stupid stat then yes they will leave…frankly I don’t so I only leave if my team is full ofkitten

Yes does keep track of wins, but nothing anyone not even the person can see. You can get an achievement for wins in Hot games but it’s nothing fancy. Join a game near the top of the PvP browser, it’ll be filled no matter what.

Well just get a feel for your class and go for like rank 10 in sPvP, then try to find yourself some parties for tournaments. You won’t have leavers, you won’t have autobalance, it’s only 5vs5 so a bit less of a zerg and there’s actually some tactics involved. sPvP for me is nothing more than a place to do 1-2 runs when you’re trying out a new build and see whether it’s any good.

i get it a lot so annoying been trying so hard to win then suddenly over to the loosing team.

It keeps track of wins, not losses. And anyway as Streaks said it’s not visible to other players.

However, you can work out your ratio of wins/losses because the character sheet tells you the number of games you have played per proffession and the number of times you have won.

I don’t understand why anyone would leave based on that alone though.

Personally I only find the auto-balance frustrating if I have been on a losing streak and then after finally getting on a winning side I get “auto-balanced”. Otherwise, its no big deal.

I have often seen the tables turned after an auto balance as well, so don’t worry about it too much; it lets us have this constant stream on pvp on demand, which is really nice.

true, no waiting is nice.. I was just unlucky first go, Ive been pretty happy with it over all

It doesn’t really bother me if I am moved to the other team, still get similar glory to if I was on the other team 15 less or something.
