I think you should check out your algorithm again in match making. I’m in tier 3 sapphire atm. Every time when i hit 4 pips, you put 3 necromancers on the ennemy team. Also i get players in my team who even aren’t the same rating as me (3000 games played, got into legendary last season). My teammates only have 500-700 ish games played. Fix it. Kittening fix it. This ain’t fun without making any progress!

well i’ve been stuck for a day too in last tier of sapphire.
It happened that every time i won 2 games in a row, the 3 games after i got matched with noobs or bad classes (like 2 warriors 1 thief against 3 necro like you said). It’s like matchmaking is punishing you after a winning streak, and want to compensate it with a lose streak. The feeling of skill beeing less relevant than matchmaking is real. In fact, i’m not doing anithing better in the games i win, and i m not doing anithing worst the games i lose. It’s like it all depends on team players or comps, wich is decided entirely by matchmaking.

It doesn’t get better, sadly. After finally getting into Ruby, I have been stuck in tier 1. After losing six consecutive matches (at least half of which were blowouts), I finally won one…by blowout.

It’s funny, because on the first three days of the season I was winning pretty much every match. I only played about 5-10 matches per day, though, and started falling behind the people I was usually getting grouped with as they advanced into higher tiers. After that, I won about 75% of the games I played for a few days. It wasn’t until just yesterday that I started to get slammed with the dreaded loss streaks.

Now the only games I win are pretty much by blowout; in the close losses that we have, my team is usually having to carry one player or a duo-queue group (and it’s almost inevitably the same player(s) during certain time frames) that drag us down. Make of that what you will, I just find it an interesting coincidence.

TL;DR It doesn’t get better. Matchmaking is weird, even when it is in your favor.

I beat a team of 4 Monday evening, my team had necro, warrior thief Revenant guardian. Maybe it isnt necro that’s the problem

I’ve told you that after ruby there is no way you solo queue and progress, this will become a pre-made ANET game, you team up 4-5 players, or you remain in ruby forever..Every “professional-very good” player says that this is good match making, I’ve told them several times try it out in solo queue, with photos… nobody from them answered, they are all pre-mades… and they think they are good players… we are good players to, we can play 5vs5 to, we can think to, the problem is you played together +500 games, have ts, and are listened by Anet, not like us, solo queuers… that’s it! I’m ruby player to, got it in 24 hours, but after that I’m just an MMR freak, who plays against pre-mades, and ends up with sapphire team mates…
This match making is anything but telling you are good or bad.. it’s telling u: u are a bad solo queuer, go find some friends + with ts..I have friends, but they are in PvE and WvW, and I love PvP..they don’t, they don’t even bother this season to play it…

Helseth & Leeto has been streaming and mostly soloqing and I believe they are in diamond division now. Definitely the exception to the rule though and expect you would need to be very good/patient to do this.

And again Anet. STOP STACKING CLASSES IN THE kitten LAST PIP GAME.

Its hilarious you think Anet is personally monitoring your games to manually give you 3 necros on your tier advancement games.

I’ve been legendary last season. I know the basics of pvp, how else i would have 3000 games already? I think Anet made a bad algorithm in their MMR. I always get people who are unexperienced in my team in pvp. How am i suposed to get out tier 3 sapphire if i keep getting a team with 3 necro’s in the last 2 pips of the third tier????

Legendary last season means nothing and 3000 games mean nothing as well. 3000 isn’t that much either, I have 8k+.

Atm. an easy tip I can give you to not be just a kitten, is: multiclass.

The counters in the current meta are often so hard, it makes up for quite a lot of skill if you have some experience with the class. I currently switch between clerics-ele, marauder-rev and necro:

- Ele hardcounters necro, condi-rev and DH.
- Rev I use when we need mobility and DPS, it counters DH and thief and is strong against Ele’s in teamfights. It’s also strong against rez-rangers in teamfights, thx to high mobility and enough AoE-CC to abuse the low amount of stability the ranger has.
- Necro is against rev’s, rangers and scrappers (the new build really doesn’t seem that good against reapers).

Scrapper of course counters DH and rev’s, so it can be a good choice as well.

They play a lot and at the right times for the best chances, and the fact they’re good makes it even easier to progress.

No, it’s not impossible. I solo-queued through Ruby to Diamond (did some duo-queue in Emerald and Sapphire, but that hardly matters).
