Hey bois,

im writing this while i cant go into matchmaking for 20 mins only because the game itself crashed while i was in a ranked game. No not my connection the game itself just froze and i had to restart it.

Well everything’s fine. I restart it and i was back after 1-2 minutes. The game just started so me and my Team won the game easily.

But what now? I lost points? why? Because I was away for 2 freaking minutes because of a freaking game problem that has nothing to do with me??

And then I cant even que because of this ?

I mean seriously the PvP in Gw2 is like not really good and/or in any way able to be in the competivie scene but why do you even ruin this game for us casual gamers who just play to climb a bit and have fun????

Why cant the game just automatically reconnect me when I lose connection like every other game too??

Seriously… “oooh you lost your connection well too bad you have 10 seconds to restart the game else you will lose points”

And in this case I didnt even lose my connection it was an in game problem.

Getting mad at this srsly.

same just happened to me.. had dc and couldnt log into gw2 for about 2 min.. my internet was still working though. lost points and got dishonor 14 min

Yes I bet we had the same problem at the same time. The game crashed and we get a punishment for it. I cant believe it

I lost 14 points the other day after a fail to connect on our team. We were 4v5 the entire match, and I still lost points?

Called up ArenaNet about our points and dude said they’re in the mail.

well i lost that game where i had dc, but my team didnt lose rating due my dc.. i dont understand why i get punished for this since it wasnt my fault, i could not log in even though my internet was fine

Game doesnt know why you dc, you might have rage quit and deserved the penalty. It’s happened to all of us.

It happend to me because my teammate disconnected, came back, we won and i got a desertion … ridiculous…

How exactly do you know it was a Guild wars 2 error and in no way a hardware or software error on your computer? Really interested.

It is hard when you hit a glitch and you disconnect for no fault of your own. For example last night the queue popped apparently but the accept button never came up on neither my teammates or my own screen. Seconds later we were just mysteriously removed from the queue and given dishonor.

Obviously a glitch when it happens to both of you.

However, That being said while from time to time the game may be imperfect, (how dare it) I often find that people complain far more about afk, disconnect people. In fact if there was no measure of punishment for this behaviour, ranked would be a nightmare.

Dishonor is a necessary function it barely tamps down the troll behaviour at the beginning of the season as it is. So many simply go around it by standing afk at home base, at least if they actually disconnect or leave your match they have to wait and won’t be queued more then likely with you.

So while I empathize with the frustration when it appears to be a game glitch(possibly or just a lag in your ISP) that causes you dishonor, it would be hard to play ranked at all if people were allowed to just leave a match with no retribution.
