I don’t consider myself good or anything, just a casual normal mid-tier player. I’ve played over 2000 games. My winrate has always been around 50%, i finished T2 gold last season. This season, I placed in T1 Gold and stayed there for the entire month having around 50% winrate as per usual.

But since Easter, all of a sudden I started getting these lose streaks, like 6 to 7 losses in a roll, then 1 win and then 6 to 7 losses again. And its not like I’m tilted because these losses are not all played on the same day, its everyday since Easter!!! They are persistent and felt like I’m being cursed or punished. Now, I’m back to Silver T2 now……

Not only that, now that I’m back in Silver T2, I am getting these teammates that have no idea what they are doing and will give up within the first 2 minutes! But somehow my opponents are still super strong like they are in Gold T3 or something. They are either all using super annoying cheesy builds or knows really well rotation that absolutely wreck all my teammates!!!

What’s happening to me!!!!!!! Right now, I don’t even feel like playing anymore…..

Could be a combination of alts working their way up and bad luck.

I’ve been having the same problem during this Easter period. I was gold Tier 1 before Easter, then I struggled just to stay within gold and today it was 9 losses 1 win and ended up silver Tier 2.

This happens often to support classes. When you start getting paired up w/ trash players, you’re supporting bad teammates. That doesn’t work well against the other team so you end up losing.

A similar thing happened to me. In under a week, I dropped from an unremarkable but respectable ~65% winrate in Gold t3 down to like 1400 rating with constant 3-8 more losses than wins. Not all losing streaks all the time, but wins were scattered and I could not get out of the rut.

Didn’t change til I said yeah kitten this game and made a few rules for myself.
(1) If I lose the first two matches in a session, I stop playing.
(2) At any point in a session, if I lose 3 of the last 5 matches, I stop playing.
(3) I don’t play anymore during times when match quality suffers the most due to low player population. (Due to my time zone I sometimes bend this rule cos the only time I can play on weekdays is like 2am and later in NA. But rules 1 and 2 keep this in check a bit.)

It seems to have helped. I’m back over 50% wins now (albeit barely), and so far back up to ~1550 rating.

You might want to consider something similar to stop you from continuing to play when you’re losing. Just turn the game off for several hours and study a foreign language or re-watch Rick & Morty or whatever.

Guy, it depends on hours. The system matchmaking is really stupid and there is nothing that you can do when you are in the phase where the game puts you always with the bad players.

Check the scores too. It’s rarely balanced during the phases. When the game décides to put you with the worst players you get absolutly rek. But when the game decides to put you with the good players, you crush the ennemy team.

And players who can play all day will all notice this matchmaking broken system depending on hours only.

today won 5 matches in a row with my ranger

Won 8 out of 11 matches yesterday, then 1 out of 7 today.

I’ve played around 1000+ rated matches over the course of the game (shameful win-rate of around 55-60%; I consider myself low-mid tier), and I’m not really sure about the consistency of the league system since I don’t feel it handles any different from the old leader-boards.

Normally, I expect the distribution of win-losses as indicated by my average – I’ll win/lose half the games each. It does get a lot better when I find a decent team (I swear my friends carry me hard).

There will be times when you get sync-queued players, or put against players who should be far above your rating/LB rank. Mostly it’s because of holidays and you get the good players queuing all day.

The opposite can also happen, where you get paired with (in the old days) people wearing starter Guild PvP clothes, MM Necros, Deep Strike Warriors, Spirit Weapon Guard, Soldier Bearbow Ranger. This mostly occurs when it’s late at night/in the morning and there’s not enough population to split the players into tiers.

Now the causes of these win-lose streaks can vary, but the most affected are us peasants with very ordinary ability, and the appearance of a good player can throw the matches wildly.

What is constant in these happenings is that the matching/rating pairing will be sustained for the entire session you’re playing. You’ll get these ridiculous lose streaks that test your resolve and confidence.

What I recommend is taking a break from PvP until decay or a change in the game population (off-peak).

There is an easy explanation and there is nothing you can do about it .

The explanation is that you get lower rank tiers in your team or you facing legendary ranks .

Today i had 4 matches vs legendary players and i am in gold tier …. And i get bronze tiers some times on my team.
The population is small so it puts you with anyone no matter the tiers .

Wow, my experiences echo those posted here. I’m glad it’s not just me (crazy win/lose streaks only). Good idea about setting firm rules for when to stop playing, kin korn karn. I will adopt those and see how it goes.

How can you determine the ranking of the opposing teammates? As far as I know you have to be mutual friends to see them show up in your “Friends and Guilds” leaderboard. I’ve tried adding opponents as friends and they don’t show up there. And in a Conquest match the rank icons disappear, so you can’t tell just from looking at their nameplate.

Well, I had a similar experience last season when I got at around 50% win rate into a losing streak, and after some effort put into it and got a bit better I slowly started taking wins back and surpassing 50% win rate, but i had to play a lot and improve.

So my take on this is there is system is somehow made that if you stagnate you get into losing streaks (either intentionally put in with weaker team mates by the system, or just, how someone above mentioned, players with better rating are using alts to progress and since they have a better win rate then you they get better rated players) and have to prove you had improved to get back to your original starting point or upper.

I woudn’t say it’s foolproof, but it’s been much better. I have an unfortunate personality trait that makes me want to keep playing when I’m losing just as much as when I’m winning. It’s the reason I swore off any kind of gambling many years ago. Perhaps I should try taking my new rules to the casinos one day.

Unfortunately, it seems most days I’m on the better side of matchmaking, I don’t have as much time to play. Today I was mostly free, and I started off losing 2. I threw caution to the wind and played a bit more, lost a couple more games and finally decided to just catch up on Homeland instead. I think I ended up 1-4 for the day. (Not counting a 4v5 due to dc, but counting a 4v5 due to player afking at around 220-300.) Just the kinds of matches where there’s nothing an individual could have done to swing them. Shoulda stuck to the system.
