Suggestion: Devide SoloQ into sections
lol if it was 1-1000 as a bracket I can’t imagine the queue wait times. Must be hours.
The only exclusive skyhammer stream
In my opinion, splitting it would at least double the waiting time for a match…probably quadruple the time for higher level players…since there are fewer of them left.
Silentshoes (Thief), Wind of the Woods (condi ranger)
I agree with everyone in this thread.
Which is why this needs to come out WITH pvp rewards that benefit ALL players of the game. If pve players could come to win gold/rare skins lots of achievement points etc etc etc there would be a huge surge in the population. While this would most likely fill the lower brackets 0-75% the reward system should be crafted in a way to incentivize the top tier players into playing OFTEN. By this we could have some decay that STICKS (so if you’re too inactive after a few days you can’t recover from -some- of the decay you’re accumulating), but also have prestigious rewards. We will never have a perfect LB system, but that doesn’t mean anet can’t offer enticing rewards to promote active play.
I think by incorporating those ideas we would see a far more lively LB than we’re seeing now. The amazing thing is that it looks like this is the direction anet is going, it just seems to be a matter of time.
edit for clarification, by pve rewards I mean giving players the OPTION to choose between pvp exclusive reward or getting gold/item skins/other buffs they could take back to pve with them. I think this would bridge the gap between the two game modes where currently the gap is so vast it’s almost as if we’re playnig two completely different games.

I agree, rank 1-1000 may dont fit the player base, but thats just an example. So maybe put the best 33% of all players into one bracket, rest into another. Maybe even 50%-50%. Anyway, im pretty sure Anet could easily find a good “cap” by looking at the statistics. The main thing is to categorize the pool of players, the perfect cap needs to be found by Anet.
Some days ago i got a guy in my team, who joined because he wanted to “complete the map” for his pve archiement. So he walked across the map looking for jumping puzzles while we fought 4on5. Others dont know about the gamemode, passing uncapped and undefended nodes because they simply dont know what they are for. And some are simply that bad, they cant even walk a straight line. Theres no way to carry this type of players, so the worst player decides about win or loss, not the best. I mean, why do serious players need to teach the fools, thats something the game should do.
@ Lux:
Absolutly agree, rewards could so easily fix the problems of the low population(plus tons of other problems due to this). Just add in 5 gems/50 silver each win, but since we´re waiting for more than a year for this, it seems to be pretty hard to implement, so its easier to design complete new areas for the living story.
But thats another story and there are already plenty of threads about this.
