Here is a proposal how to solve the XvsY issue which has been lately plaguing sPvP.

My proposal is to implement a FIFO (“first in first out”) stack with a variable length which would put defeated players at the end of the stack. If both teams are even respawns happen as usual.

However, if there is a 4vs5 situation the stack size (number of allowed active players per team) is reduced to 4 and the moment that fifth guy in the bigger team dies he or she goes to the end of the stack (waiting line). When someone else from his team dies he will be the first in team to respawn.

If a more serious situation like 3vs5 happens all the above rules would be applied the same. Basically whenever you die and are part of the bigger team you go to the end of the waiting line (stack).

Stacks are LIFO, not FIFO.

Stacks are LIFO, not FIFO.

Stacks are both FIFO and LIFO, depends which one you need. You can call it a queue if you don’t like the terminology but FIFO stacks exist and are commonly used.

This won’t work, personally if I’d have to wait so long to respawn, I’d simply switch servers.

I dont think he is suggesting this for hotjoin, infact in hotjoin nothing matters really, you dont like tha match…. just change server, who cares, you are loosing…. just switch team and become the winner, you can.
Hotjoin just make no sense at all, except practicing with a class/build before actually using it in matches.

It could actually be a good idea to fix 4v5 situatons, i should try it, but on the papaer i like it.
The funny thing is that having a quitter will be more annoying for the other team XD
It could also involve some smart play on the 4 men side, cause if they are missing the guard they could try to take him down at the right time to force him out of the game for a while and produce an even situation.
