You are the useless log of flesh we have to drag behind us as we move forward.

Ok so I have been in a losing/winning streak because of 4v5/5v4. This is getting ridiculous!! Where’s the fun?! Aside from the unfair matchmaking system(all tigers on one side, wolves, deers, rabbits on the other) we also have this problem to face!! 4v5.
I’ve been losing a lot(and in streaks too) because of 4v5 it’s so depressing! /wrist /cry /rage. I rather not look at my rankings in leaderboards now. (/cry again)
As much as I hate the PvP system, I love PvP so instead of rage quitting from gw2 completely (I’ve threatened to do this countless times) I’d just give some suggestions to save PvP from this hellhole and PvPers from hair-pulling frustrations.
1.Add a “Ready” button before starting a match. Don’t start the match until everyone
has pressed “Ready”. This assures fair 5v5(with no afkers) at the start of the game.
This has been suggested by many I think. This shouldn’t be very hard to implement.
2.In case of leavers/dc in the middle of the game, if the system detects the match
is uneven (4v5), the match will pause and will have the still-5-membered team to
evict a team member so that the match will be an even 4v4. The evicted member
can choose to go on spectator mode or leave the match but either way, the
win/loss of his team will be carried over to his pvp stats.
-If the DCed member relogs while match is still going on, he’s gonna be put on
spectator mode. Win/loss of his team will be carried over to his pvp stats.
-If the DCed member did not relog 5 minutes after the match ended, it will be
automatic loss. Same goes for leavers(those who clicked “Leave Match” AND IS
NOT on spectator mode).
Explanation on the 5-minute allowance after end of match:
For example you got DCed at 400-200 in favor of your team and when you relogged(2 minutes later) game is already over, your team won. It would be unfair to count it as a loss on your part, so for this case, the system must give a 5-minute allowance after end of match to give chance for DCed players to relog. If you cannot relog 5 minutes after the match ended, it will be automatic loss.
-Chatting is disabled on spectator mode.
-Leaving spectator mode will still affect your stats depending on the win/loss of
your team.
3.In case of AFKers in the middle of a match. The game will detect if a player has been idle for 30 seconds then will ask the team:
“kittenbag has been idle for 30 seconds. Do you still want to continue with him?”
A: Yes, we will continue with him.
B: No, kick him out of the team.
Players who are kicked as AFK will receive automatic loss.
So these are my suggestions. Questions/comments/suggestions are welcome. (?^_^?)
Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu!(Please be kind to me.)
P.S. This suggestion is for Solo Arena btw because players on Team Arena are usually on voip and the spectator mode might be exploited.

Nice suggestions ^5
^ Good ideas. ArenaNet, please read them.
It might not go over well to kick a good player to spectator mode to make up for a DC. Some team compositions work much better with 4v4 or 3v3—for example, if your team is very defensive and already has two points, it’s almost impossible for the opposing team to overcome your bunkers with only three players against three bunkers. Besides, it seems strange to kick a player out just because someone on the other team ragequit.
Also, being idle for 30 seconds may just mean you’re defending midpoint and no one has come to attack you.
I think a “ready” button would be enough.
Not sure about forgiving DCs. If your connection quality is poor, I think that should be reflected in your matchmaking—i.e. you could be a great player but if you’re lagging out/dc’ing constantly you won’t be able to compete at as high of a level as you could otherwise.
Nice suggestions.
I would like a better way to assure that everyone will have a fair match.
+1 to this post, a lot of great suggestions.
so i just have everyone disconnect until its a 1v1 between 2 classes where my team counters the opponents – or just have someone with very high mobility go for caps and kills all the time or…
And forcing people to click ready?
I dont want to wait forever to start the game – at least if theres a timer on it people wont go buy their groceries while waiting for q pop.
This is not very well thought thru… please dont..

they should use World of Warcraft LFG system for PvE.
1 – pop up to tell that “5 players are ready – go? Y/N”
2 – people confirm they are still available within 30s (ppl can’t see group comp)
3 – If all say yes, 5 players ported in the map, match starts within 1m,
4 – if not, find the missing persons for group and ask Q2 again
This is of course a big problem and it happens way to often for my or the opposing team.
I personally feel that there should be some kind of Leave% stat that should be used when making teams in 5v5. Leavers get placed in teams with other leavers. This way you will want to keep your leave% low so that you wont have other people leave on you. The problem right now is that there is no consequence for leaving, the only ones harmed by it are the people actually staying in the game. The leavers should face the consequences of their own actions, in one way or another.
Regarding your suggestions:
- The ready button is a good idea, when the countdown reaches zero and if everyone isn’t ready the team should be given the option to replace the people who aren’t ready yet on their team.
- Kicking players in the middle of the game for being AFK won’t help anyone unless the kicked people can be replaced. If there was some incentive for people to join mid-game and the ability to queue for these games were given to the players this problem could be solved. Helpers could receive double rank/glory, achievements and/or titles for doing this.
- Auto-losing or auto-winning because of leavers wont solve the problem, but it will save a lot of time and perhaps frustration for people and therefore it might be a good temporary measure. I don’t think these wins and losses should count on the leader board stats though.

This is a good point actually. But 3(even 2) players could still take down a bunker. Once they take the point, the bunker would have a hard time taking it back again, because bunkers dont do much damage. Still depends on team strategy. But still a fairer fight than 4v5.
Besides, it seems strange to kick a player out just because someone on the other team ragequit.
It’s also not fair for a team to lose because of a kittening rage quitter.
Also, being idle for 30 seconds may just mean you’re defending midpoint and no one has come to attack you.
yeah, about 30 seconds idle time, it doesnt have to be necessarily 30 secs. Some people might find it too short. 30 secs is just an example. Of course the system would have to warn the suspected afk player. Something like “You have been detected idle for 30 seconds(or whatever time period). If we don’t detect any movement within 5 seconds(or whatever time period again), a prompt will be given to your team mates that you are AFK.” AFK players in the middle of the game is kittening annoying. Why do a tournament if you’re gonna Akitten the middle of it?

DCing players, although it’s not their fault, are also hurting their team mates. Why must your team mates suffer for your poor connection?

Everything good…but keep in mind that top 100 soloq are almost always in sinc and on ts too like everyone, except maybe anet, knows…

Sure, if you admit that you’re weak and can’t win in a 5v5 match go ahead.
And forcing people to click ready?

Are you afraid of suggesting in a kind way? You really have to add And forcing people to click ready? You sound like a hodor.
And I agree about timer, good suggestion.
This is not very well thought thru… please dont..
Really? I think the OP’s ideas are really good. At least he/she is trying to make this game better. The only thing I see that has not very well thought through is your reply.

Try doing that on solo queue. You can’t just tell people to disconnect. Specially in solo queue. No one listens in solo queue. duh.

yeah, these are on grounds that syncing is NOT possible on solo queue.

Funny thing is that there’s actually a full vent server dedicated to soloq sinc too…but yeah it’s not possible at all…rofl
