One of the most frustrating things in sPvP is getting into 4v5 situations (or worse) because someone d/c’d or raged for some reason. My suggestion for this is to do the following:

• Halt the match and wait a reasonable amount of time for the d/c to return, say, not more than 30-45 seconds. All active timers in the match, cap, decap, etc. are suspended and players cannot do anything during this period.

• If the player does not return, the match stays halted and all players on the heavy side are presented with a popup asking if each is willing to leave the match. If one or more persons answers yes, then one of those players is selected randomly and is booted from the match. If no one answers yes, one player is selected randomly. For the booted player, it would be as if the match never occurred. Nothing gained or lost.

• Match resumes with both sides short-handed but even.
