Suggestion for fixing ranked queue
Ways to increase MMR:
1. Shouldn’t be through wins in unranked.
2. Should be based off of kills, caps, winning pivotal fights, ressing allies.. etc.
3. Accumulate enough and you’ll be able to queue for ranked with more competent players.
Limiting the population more is not the answer for better games since matchmaking will work even worse.
I think actually removing unranked (there’s no real difference between ranked/unranked) would help though.. bigger pool of players → better matchmaking but this is another topic…
This can only be helped rank-gating Ranked Queue. For example, you have to be rank 20 to get into Ranked Queue.
This would just make sure that, at least, you don’t get completely new people in Ranked. It could be get to Rank 60 maybe, something like LoL requires from you to get lvl30 to start doing Ranked matches.
This is just my opinion. Ranked should have “dedicated” players meanwhile Unranked should have more “casual”, non-competitive players.
2. Should be based off of kills, caps, winning pivotal fights, ressing allies.. etc.
So the best strategy would be to zerg kitten to one point, kill one dude, cap point, move to next. Nice idea, should implement it immediately.

Dude… It’s a team game. That’s why every member of the team has to be rewarded (or punished) for the same amount.
Why do people think gating ranked will help anything? If matchmaking is working properly, then new people and bad people will be placed with and against people with an equal lack of skill. If you’re matched with people of disparate skill then that’s a problem with rating and matchmaking.
The reason why high rating players have longer queues is because the population is smaller compared to average rating players. The game spends longer trying to find an equally skilled match.
Ranked is for competitive play
Unranked is for when you are teaching or running with casuals
OP you should start contact-adding teammates whose gameplay you admired during a match, then invite them to queue with you. Solo queue is bound to be like this, which allows you to enjoy a match more than once an hour.
I do not queue with other people, and I know and understand the risks of being the least-skilled person in a match, or the most-skilled and having everyone else kitten about.
