Since the buff to condi in the last patch, condi builds become very effective in spvp and roaming wvw (too much effective in my personal opinion).
So as direct damage scale with opposit toughness, why condi can not scale the output damage with vitality?
It’s quite hard to counter some condi build with a power based build, especially some classes (mesm pu, burn guard, condi ele, condi engi).
What do you think about this?

Condi builds are extremely weak against builds with active condition removal or transfer. They don’t really hit any harder than a Zerker spike either.

Especially against new changes, condi builds are not very effective. Ranger, guardian and necro can become a real pain in the tushy if they know how to play.

I usually play marauder engineer. Don’t know if it’s my fault in playing well, but I think that when u have 10 stack of confusion that hit 600+ if u don’t use skills and 2k+ if u use skill, and 5-6 stack of torment quite always from stealth it seems very hard to counter for me… so he can hit me (beeing quite always invisible) and i cannot attack or move or remove all condi (turret is the only condi remove that i have).
Similar if i face a condi engi it’s very hard (quite impossible) counter him.
Ele and guard burning is just insane (3,6k burning from a guard 2 days ago)

Did you consider that conditions can be completely cured? You can’t do that with direct damage. High hp is already good condi counter.

In general:
small scale battles – condi builds > dps builds
larger battles – dps builds > condi builds

You can’t be really demanding such big change into the game just because your dps build having no access to condi cleanse.

Turret Heal isn’t the only condi removal you have.

  • Cleansing Synergy in Inventions Tree
  • Transmute in Alchemy
  • Alchemical Tintures in Alchemy

If they stealth bomb you, stunbreak with Elixir S. Alchemy tree will give the Elixir a condi removal.
Done.

For the record, not many players can beat mesmers in general. Especially if you get ganked by a Mesmer + X comp, you’ll basically die everytime. But what you can work on is not dying as fast. I’ve see power engi’s survive for quite awhile in clutch situations.

Eles and Guards definitely ahouldn’t be an issue for you in 1v1’s, considering they have very apparent burn skills that you can cleanse off easily. They’re definitely easier than a Mesmer.

Condition specs are weaker than other specs even bunker guard>burn guard cele ele>condi ele and you cleanse,transfer,heal off conditions in addition to the usual evades,block,blinding etc. WvW has food…delete that but even with that there is no condition meta.

Turret Heal isn’t the only condi removal you have.

  • Cleansing Synergy in Inventions Tree
  • Transmute in Alchemy
  • Alchemical Tintures in Alchemy

With static discharge build I usually don’t play alchemy line. So I have only healing turret and cleanising Synergy (with long IC).

What I think is that is strange that dps builds for working well have to use marauder o berserker amulets (no tough at all, a bit of vitality with marauder), but condi build now do the same damage (or quite the same) by having high tough and survivability. So your direct damage is ‘mitigated’ by their tough, but their damage cannot be ‘modified’. In sPvP this is not so evident (except for 1vs1 situation where these build show all their potential, in teamfight direct damage is really better), but in wvw roaming it’s really evident also for the Dire stats.

suck for you dude. i took HGH and the Egun, and condis are not much of an issue for me.
either accept that your build has a big weakness or change it. condi skills can skill be blocked and dodged, so perhaps you could focus on learning their tells so you can avoid them.
