Surprising fact about leaderboards
Your inability to process the logic of the hidden mmr can be explained by your inability to process that the mmr is without logic.
Once you understand this… an explanation you will find.
Hello, me and one friend were 146 and 147 rank. He was 146, I was 147.
We played 2 games together and we won both games. After them, in the first leaderboard update, I am 102 and he is 111.
Can someone explain this?
Just because you are 146 and 147 does not mean that your hidden rating is exactly the same, nor does it mean your player volitility score is the same. Even if you were at the exact same rating on the same team (in the same game), if your volitility is vastly different the rating you gain will be different. This is how the system works, I hope the information has helped.

what if they only ever played together?
Other players can move up or down in ratings too FYI.
The fact that you were 1 place away from eachother says nothing about the absolute difference in rating in between your two positions.
Even if your volatility and rating gain was the same for those 2 matches, there is always room for other players to rise or fall in between your ratings.
EDIT: Never mind I didn’t notice that the order was different too. Volatility must be the reason then.

Can only explained with something like volatility. If they both played the same matches(against the same opponents and same rating on the enemy team) they should increase both by the same.
Other players ranks could interfere with the difference in rank between the two of them. But not with the order. If one was higher and after the few matches he is lower than the other it must be another reason.
Something like volatility seems to make sense.

Yoda? is that you? o.O’
You might have gained more mmr on the wins that he did because of your relative relationship to the people you beat. But the leaderboards are definitely a little confusing.
Besides volatility, there’s also the likelihood your two MMR ratings aren’t exact. The player with the lower MMR would gain more rating from beating a higher ranked team, because they would be less expected to win. That’s without considering volatility.

I was wondering the same thing!!!
My team keeps playing alltogether. 3 people used to be at 50%.
Afte 3 wins 1 of us is at 55% one at 60% and one still at 50% !!!
It’s really a mystery why this all happens. Our team only queues together these days and we jump around in ranks between us. From one hour to the next Azshene will be on top, then symbolic will be on top, then I will be on top. There is really no telling where we will end up and it’s really odd because Azshene was way ahead of us all on the ladder initially, and symbolic was below all of us.

We don’t even know if it works that way. It would make more sense if the players with low average MMR gained less since they contributed less to the win of their team.
Also too bad it is not taking into account how close the team is winning or losing. You can have bad luck a few times with losing 49x to 500 and then your rating would drop but you aren’t that much worse than the enemies you played against.
until hotjoin tourneys and built team tourneys are separated, the rating system is moot anyways.
The leaderboards and the mmr system have its flaws, but they have nothing to do with that phenomenon. People that dont understand the basics of an elo system and refuse to read them up should refrain from commenting on this topic and stop creating threads about it with the simple intention to blame Arenanet.
so your mmr was higher than his mmr and you got more points for your win, where is the problem?
