TNO is proud to announce the [TNO] Christmas Classic, the 3rd of 3 successful sPvP tournaments we have put on this year. The tournament will be held Dec. 18th, 9pm EST. This tournament is a 3v3 format with an entry fee of 10g per player. The server to be used is the [TNO] Thunderdome. (be sure to add it to your favorites before the tournament!)
Prizes:The prize purse for the tournament is 1500g, with prizes being awarded for 1st-4th place in the following manner (prizes will be split among team members):
1st Place – 1000g (333g per player)
2nd Place – 300g (100g per player)
3rd Place – 150g (50g per player)
4th Place – 50g (16g per player)
Class/Comp Rules: The map being used for this tournament will be the courtyard. Teams will advance by winning the best of 3, with the championship rounds (1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th) being the best of 5.
Teams may not have more than 1 bunker classes, and may not have 3 of the same class. 1 minion class (i.e spirit ranger, minion necro) per team only. Teams may have up to two of the same class.
Bunkers are defined as a build that attempts to negate and redirect damage as much as possible while doing little or no DPS. The following class/amulet combinations will probably be considered bunkers:
Engineer- Clerics
Elementalist- Celestial, Magi, Clerics
Guardian- Clerics, Magi, Celestial, Soldier
Ranger- Celestial, Settler’s
Necromancer- Celestial, Clerics, Settlers
Mesmer- None
Warrior- Celestial, Soldier, Cleric, Settlers, Magi, Knight’s
Thief- None
What is defined as a bunker is up to the discretion of the tournament managers. Utility, amulet, and traits are all taken into account when deciding if a class is a bunker. Builds that are slight variations (1-2 traits different, 1 utility skill different, etc.) of each other will be considered the same build. Two different weapon sets per player will be considered distinct enough (Elementalist/Engineer excluded). Message bigbobpataki.4796 in game if you want to see if a build will be considered a bunker. Builds will be checked before the match, with players having 5 minutes to change builds/comp if they are deemed to be breaking the rules.
General Rules: The following general rules shall apply:
-No intentional stalling of the match is allowed. This could be considered any attempt to reset the match (i.e thieves permastealthing).
-All team members must /bow before a round to indicate readiness. Players cannot buff before this but can once both sides have bowed.
-Once a player is stomped, they are out for the round.
-No leaving/rejoining while a match is in progress. Teams may not be spectators period during a match.
-We are allowing players to change builds between matches but not classes.
-Teams can agree to a rematch if something goes wrong (i.e a player disconnects) but only if both sides agree. Rematches are played with the same gear/builds.
-Absolutely no hacking/bug abuse. This will result in an immediate disqualification.
Breaking any rule (aside from the last one) will result in a warning, with the 2nd infraction being a disqualification.
