Guild Wars 2

Im new to this game, i enjoy Team PVP and will most likely focus on this, my problem is both these class’s appeal to me, there is so much information out there, i could use a bit of help, so i can start playing

What are the pros of cons of each, and which would be easier to learn.

Spirit ranger is the easiest spec in the game to play. Bar none. I tried out ranger for the first time today in pvp and I’ve won 75% of the tournaments I’ve queued for. Just use this build:

Necro is also easy to play, but you will have to learn a bit more than with spirit ranger.

They only appeal to you because they happen to be the top current 2 classes at the moment right? This is the thinking of new players it seems, just follow the easiest and cheesiest class to win with.

So OP – do you want to play for fun? Or is streaking together as many wins as possible more important? You should know condition necro/spirit ranger are what you will most likely play, and they are quite powerful and TOTALLY BORING to play – but if your enjoyment of life depends on having to win at all cost, then go ahead I guess. Consider that this game is about 1,000 years away from esports I’d rather just play for fun – try some funky build out on some class and see if u can make it work.

I didn’t know they were top i thought mesmer and ele were, i actually read alot of info saying rangers suck and necros were average, Doesnt really matter anyway i dont expect them to be the top 2 by the time i level up.

I like ranger, but they seem a bit pet dependent from what i know? or am i wrong?
Necro i like except they dont seem very evasive as compared to the ranger?

Dont listen to the hype, sure necro and spirits are strong in this meta(maybe the strongest) but mes and thief are easily the most played and tryhard out of the bunch.

Ranger can evade like crazy. Necro only really has two dodge rolls and then it has to facetank with death shroud and spew DPS or die. Ranger trait lines are heavily connected to pet.
