As someone who’s been a spectator for the better part of 2 months because of work, i’ll give my point of view to these situations.

I think it is unlikely and unfair to demand anything of arena-net at this point. They have given us 6 months post-release to make a fair judgement about the game. There have been dramatic changes like single matches, new maps, and the like. So it’s not like they’re not doing anything, but for many people (including myself) it’s taking too long to get anything rolling.

The game is fun, I wish i still had time to play it more regularly, because WvW and the PvE side of the game is a blast. But i digress, the lack of features and community population in sPvP is disheartening to say the least. So for me Heart of the Mists will simply be a transfer zone to get to Lions Arch.

I would say give it until the March patch Nova, wouldn’t do any harm to wait an extra month, you’ve already invested so much into the game anyway

All i was doing this post is just expressing our opinion and thanks for being honest.

The maps are a good addition yea but we didnt ask for them the priority should have been elsewhere.

Yea you are right i do want to stay and play this game i think its great and if anet will give me that reason, it has to be soon.

In regards the the indicators about esports there were loads before the game started about spectator and custom arena. Also the main driving force behind a esports game is the players which anet do not seem to listen to.

All im asking them to do is just talk to us do it on the forums or a SOTG next week or something explain themselves that is all.

Like myself you love this game and you want it to get better, so your hanging onto every little thread that it does; and Anet has given us a lot of those threads to hang on to.
All I am going to say is, if you do leave now then I will see you next month.

+1. Yeah, at least if we’d know it will take another year, I won’t have to be disappointed each month.

BTW, I’m a (former) Tsunami but grad school and unconvenient time zone (Hawaii) make it impossible for me to be active on the same level as you guys. I did like to just play semi-competitively but a lack of a solo queue disabled me from enjoying the game any further. Hope Anet will give me a reason to see you guys in-game sometime in the future. Really enjoyed the first few weeks the game was out when everyone was still playing and we had like 3 or 4 teams running tourneys at the same time.

Here is the thing, even if nothing happens next month, I can always stop playing and come back the month after.

The only thing really keeping me in the game at the moment is my team, funny enough today the team became 1 year old, so for me I guess I am dedicated more towards my team then I am the game; but I do firmly believe that this game will get better.

well unfortunately because of most people leaving the game from my team (bored of the game and such like) if blu goes then i most likely will as well. But as you say i may come back at a later date. I hope thats the case!

Dude just look at the forums it aint just me there are way more threads like this. It is mainly the fact that they made promises that they aint deliverd on. Also if you compare this to other mmo PvP designers they have a better community support which is what this game is lacking and everyone should be agreeing to that and that is what i ask of them.

The funny thing is, there’s Indie games that DO offer more support and features for competitive play. Also, it’s not unfair to at least have them communicate and admit that PVP is the lowest priority of all. That way, you won’t disappoint people every time.

OP pretty much nailed it.
Point is: There are tons of these threads out there at the moment. Not troll – threads, but well-written, thought through topics, from people that really care about the game (shamelessly advertising the link in my signature here) .
It’s a shame Arenanet does not seem to have the community management that would be necessary for this.

People do care. People love the potential of this game. Yet, the development is so slow, and the big kittening air qoute E – Sport big kittening air qoute features are just not coming.

It’s just a ladder, god kitten Just give us a ladder and we will have a reason to play.

In short, “big PvP/balance patch”.

Unless it comes live in March, there will be no reason to stick around and play PvP. If it’s not ready for March, as we were made to believe, there will be literally no incentive to log in to the game.

My guild is giving it one last month and a chance to bring the ‘big’ stuff. If March fails, it’s unlikely we’re ever going to play again.

Op youre rightnon every point but it has already been discusses ad nauseum. Me, im just doing wvw until this thing is up and running. Dont need to wait just go play other games/modes and come back in 3-6 months.

Well you got my +1, not much more to add to that. I gave up months ago, I log in once every week, altho I don’t even know why. Guess there’s a part of me that still wishes this game had any charm to keep me playing, like I did Guild Wars 1 for 4000 hours…

brilliant analisys, unfortunately i agree on all the points you mentioned, expecially about the spvp guilds failure due to weekly constant lefting from people, which is also my case…
