I was wondering if there ever will be a mode like this in Guild Wars 2.

In Guild Wars the original, it was always fun to hot join with some guys and just see who would win in a death match, whether it was Team Arena or Random Arena. Even the maps that had objectives within it like capturing the flag for a buff. That stuff.

I don’t always like having to critically think about placement in Capture Points. Where people should be and when.

There is a roomer going around that they are going to add a deathmatch mode for their custom arenas but when that is coming out is unknown.

I think that’s smart. People could try it, duel a few times, group kite for a while, and realize why conquest is not as bad of a game mode as it is made out to be.

Well it stinks. Because in a random match, it’s hard to communicate well for conquest, whereas with a team arena it’s literally, “try to kill the other team.”

It reduces the NEED to communicate while playing randomly with a group.

Would also eliminate massive bunker type classes because they obviously would not die.

Well it stinks. Because in a random match, it’s hard to communicate well for conquest, whereas with a team arena it’s literally, “try to kill the other team.”

It reduces the NEED to communicate while playing randomly with a group.

Hence why deathmatch is always the most popular mode in MMOs for both casuals and hardcore players. Its can be both simple and complex to the extream depending on the level of play.

Conquest is more annoying then anything as sometimes to win you need to avoid fights and run stupid builds that cant do anything other then hold a circle a bit longer.

I can see it happening…

Match ends after the first team fight when there is team wipe. Next game will commence, which most likely will be cap points gain.

that is if TDM is mixed with conquest.

I can see it happening…

throw various buffs around the map. whichever team gets most buffs first has a higher chance to wipe the other team.

custom arena allows the map creator to choose any map in the game, including all PvE maps, draw boundary lines. random spawn points

for example, a death match game could happen in a pvp instance of the upper floor of divinity reach.

this is so true, and the reason why we need this instead of RNG YOLOqueue.
