Yesterday I had the unfortunate experience of reading an utterly disgusting thread; where supposed members of the non-existent competitive scene attacked the one player, who I believe deserved it the least, sadly I didn’t have a chance to reply to that thread yesterday, that thread seems to be deleted now and rightfully so.

Xeph, I just wanted to say that I can’t speak for the rest of the community, but please don’t get discouraged by what those people said, because I highly doubt they share a single brain cell between the lot of them. I have not seen a single one of them make a single constructive post to keep the community going, and its sad that they can barely see the fact that the community isn’t missing more hate or whine threads; its missing people who are trying to revitalize the community and keep it going.

Reading your posts and the amount of effort that you are putting into the community, I just want to make sure that it doesn’t stop and I just wanted you to know that we appreciate it, I was there in your teamspeak when you were trying to find everyone teams and looking through the thread with them trying to match them up with other people. I can honestly say that none of those players who attacked you are capable of doing; because the difference between someone who takes action and one that sits on his kitten all day and whines, is as clear as day and night. Instead of making more hate threads Xeph has given us a way to work with what little we have and has encouraged the community to try and weather the storm.

I remember in one beta weekend where Xeph was in ts with a bunch of community members for 8 hours, helping with builds and playing tournaments.
People can claim as much as they want that I am trying to kiss his kitten but in reality I just have a lot of respect for the guy, and I just don’t understand the approach that was taken by the people who are meant to be the pros of the community, it was espically disgusting to read the posts that danto made, if you guys thought you were doing the community any favours with your posts yesterday than you are sorely mistaken.

All in all, all I just wanted to say was thank you Xeph, for all the things you’ve done I will continue to support you and the rest of team paradigm, and please don’t give up!

I know he’s quite selfless and would still do most of the good things he does for the community even if the community didn’t even feel a little grateful towards him, but it can’t possibly hurt to say that we love the guy and that we’ve got his back from time to time right?

is there an actual reason why zoose was removed from the sotg ?

I’m naively curious.

From my point of view, Xeph is one of the ones that care the most about this game. He understands dev limitations and is willing to change his point of view during a discussion. Xeph is probably one of the best candidates around for this sort of thing. Perhaps it wasn’t the right move to replace Zoose, but that doesn’t really have anything to do with Xeph.

I have absolutely no clue, but he defintly shouldn’t be removed. If they wanted to add another fully NA player, it should be a 3 player show with that guy, Xeph and Zoose.

After the february patch Xeph made a thread named “is this a joke?”I asked him directly if hes thinking of quiting and answered hes considering it.The thread was deleted and now Xeph is inveted in the next SOTG.Dont know who raged you and for what reason but i would like to hear if you still considering of quiting..Or the 3 ele changes that were not in the first notes made you change your mind.And cause im a casual player i didnt notice any major fix with eles,they are still pretty overpowered and still a contsant picking.So im also asking you if you think that these 3 changes make it for the lacking first notes and now eles are more “tolerable”?

I will never quit on my team, the only time I can assure you will quit is when my team does; we had an internal chat after the patch and came to the decision that we are not going to quit just yet. nothing else influenced me to stay apart from that.

This community is kinda wierd. Normally it’s the smaller the community, the better it is. Compare LoL and SC2, or CoD and Warsow. Oh how I miss the glory days of Warsow 0.3. It had the best community I have ever seen, consisting of maybe a few hundred people.
The GW2 PvP community gets smaller every day, but seems to get more toxic. Some people claim to still have passion for this game. What if I told you that you don’t have to whine and insult constantly to show your passion? Xeph seems to be the only one to get this.

Haven’t met or talked to Xeph before but it sounds like you are a good, positive force in this community. Thanks for everything you’ve done!
