Thank you for the Tournament of Groucharoo.
I agree. A lot of fun and interesting stuff. Helseth and Sind perform great together in regard of match-explanation and entertainment. Having an opportunity for team to compete and show what they are able without the pressure from top teams is great.
I think a problem with pro-league was that it excluded every team outside of it. Pro-teams didn´t have any interest in scrimming the outside teams cause there was nothing to gain with it. That means around 2 month minimum without any interesting stuff for that teams. ToL was the first after a long time with heavy competition though (what is alright).
I understand that kind of tournament from helseth and sind can´t be done every month, but I think we NEED something like that more often.
Great tournament, really fun to watch and to learn from. When Helseth came up with the idea on his stream I didn’t believe it would be possible to organize a tournament in such a short time. Obviously it was, very well done by everyone involved!
You cast was both enjoyable and informative. I especially liked your comments on what was a good or bad rotation and why. Btw., Sindrener looked much more comfortable with his role than at the world championship.

Of course he was more comfortable, he could sneaky stealth away every time…
Are fights uploaded somewhere so we can watch?

It is uploaded on YouTube
Yeah it was an enjoyable initiative. Nice comments, clutch games for most of the time, I was actually hooked on it for the entire afternoon (except for a little break for dinner lol), even though I don’t enjoy PvP that much....Congratulations to the winners !!!
[SALT]Natchniony – Necromancer, EU.

To bad it was the same time a real esports tournament was on twitch.
Piken Square EU, maybe soon on your server.
There’s huge room for improvement (just talking from a streaming perspective, mostly, not about the tournament itself), but it’s pointless to say what could have been better.
All in all the most enjoyable pvp event in a long while. The thing that I always stressed out about proleague is that you can’t have esports without having that bulk of teams playing below the top level. Can’t have a scene with 8 top teams (debatable) and outside of those just 3-4 active teams (which was the situation for most of the time after Academy EU died out, and also : guess what, one of those outside-looking-in teams won this tournament). The huge sign of the “esportzZZ” failed attempt was in the challenger’s cup : 3 relegated pro league teams, 13 slots for teams from pvp team ladder; out of those 13 slots, only 7 teams signed up, and that was for money prizes (won’t happen, but if you manage to squeeze into proleague it’s guaranteed money). Plenty fail pvp seasons before deciding to use a decently working ranking system.
Anyways, with this we may be starting to restore how things were before the pvp ladder nonsense. Need a tournament like this (even in smaller fashion) like once a month.
something like that should be organized by arenanet every month, with a prize of 2k gems and a few hundred gold per player for the winning team and some small prizes for the top8 should be enough to get people to play
and if the devs dont have enough time for it , let an intern do it , cant be that hard
ps: and of course every person that played at the last lan should not be allowed to participate , that torunament should be used to create new teams and let them grow without getting roflstomped by the pro players
Yes i just watched it and wanted to say thanks to everyone involved as well.
Took me like 3 weeks to watch it but i really liked Helseth and sind commentary. They do what the past EU and NA commentators wouldnt which is call out players for playing bad, calling out bad rotations and saying what match ups/rotations they would of done.
Storm and Huerix do that a little but the are so pc and almost afraid to say something unless its obvious.
I also wanted to comment on the level difference. That Helseth vs Dank 1 vs 1 right before the final, omg i felt for him so much.
Seriously there is like 15 players in this game EU side and 15 NA side who truly can compete in the 5 vs 5 setting vs each other. Like wow the level difference from a top 10 player and a top 250 player from EU (as well as NA) is so different.
Either way great stuff thanks for the post
