Knights of ARES, Dragonbrand
Good times, good memories
So I have to confess, any sort of PvP always makes me really kittening nervous, when I was still playing SC2 it was a very long time before I could get myself to ladder, and even then my palms and feet would always break out into a sweat on the loading screen just about every match. I have been playing since beta weekends and only really started playing PvP two weeks ago.
While I do get the occasional kitten-hat who talks smack for being rank 60+ being in a match where everyone on the other side is wolf or lower, my experience in unranked has been very friendly. People who were on the opposing team a match or two back are pleasant when they are now on my team, and while not every GL HF is replied to, I have yet to have someone act like a kitten just because I chose to be polite. Yes tempers can flare when a match goes bad, but almost no one really crosses the line.
Many of you would still consider me a scrub, and that’s okay since any game you can master in less than 2 weeks can’t be that much fun. I’m countering builds I should counter for the most part, even if I am taking more damage than I should. Other games PvP communities often are not as nice as what I am experiencing, so thank you to everyone for making my real intro to PvP a pleasant experience.

I think you are on the wrong forum mate… You must have played an other game then Guild Wars 2¿
I know right FOX. Dude, I’m glad your experience has been great! But just give it time…at this point I just bow up anytime someone has a problem with me and tell them to suck it. So many people acting like total butts because I’m not meta or some crap. From what I understand, this is a typical experience. I wanna pvp in your matches! lol
I’m not saying it’s always sunshine and rainbows, unless I get a troll shooting The Dreamer, but the jerks are few and far between, not even once a night as an average. I usually que up with at least one friend, sometimes almost a full group, so I haven’t been going solo much. Almost always when I do get someone on my team being rude its when we are losing, and it’s more of a comment born from frustration than anything else. Maybe the friendliness goes away once I hit rank 40 or so.
GW2 community is one of the more pleasant communities of all MMORPG atm imo.
NEVER play League of Legends.
And yes, in general unranked is a bunch of nice blokes. Ranked on the other hand… COULD be bad. Luck I guess.

I would definitely agree with this. And what’s interesting is that I’ve found it tends to get better over time, which is like the opposite of any other mmo I’ve ever looked into.
Lol i do find it funny your talking big about being level 60+. My god i wished anet kept the old leveling system in pvp. Everyone and there mother has a dragon finisher it seems, and some of these people ……. ill leave it alone. Glad your enjoying your games.
I’m curious how you managed to misread my post that badly. Not only was that a reference to some of the people acting like jerks, but I also stated I have only been really playing PvP for two weeks.
