The Best Part of the PvP Announcement
That was something I noticed already. With the elite specs, for the first time it was clear we had a developer for each profession, aware of their bad skills and traits and ready to fix them. And it was also clear that they are working together to balance the whole thing. While they currently mostly worked on the elite specs, a few promised us changes for the core profession.
Really looking forward to see that in practice. I still have doubts about the state of balance when the expansion arrives, because some specs seem quite strong. But I have faith in the developers in charge.
another good part but maybe only for the pro teams is this:
Part of ArenaNet’s efforts to make sure as many people can build to pro-level as possible is the lowering of the tournament age restriction. Previously you had to be over 18 to participate, but the gate now opens for 16-year-olds. “Our partnership with ESL has made it possible to both lower our age restriction as well as remove the region restriction,” explains Corpening. “Because events of this nature are ESL’s specialty they have the structure to host tournaments with fewer restrictions than we had on our own with WTS.
yeah, this sounds very promising indeed. leagues, big tournaments, fancy prizes, growing playerbase, thats all cool, but what we all really want the most is better balancing. It seems they are taking steps to improve it. very optimistic.
HoT launch could be problematic, some things like alacrity or some scrapper traits are just way too strong and some existing builds are broken. hope its resolved quickly.
some great pvp news for once. kudos. though i still dont see ranger getting a quality pvp build for the foreseeable future
