Guild Wars 2

Introduced a friend to PvP today. The scoreboard is posted below. As a new player, he was “matched” against players who were at least 30 ranks above him. Needless to say, he was stomped quickly, thoroughly and often.

This is not a good introduction to PvP. What are you doing to fix it?

If you do not mind me asking, what is your pvp rank?
Did you queue up or did he?

I’m sorry to hear that he didn’t have a good first go around with pvp, hopefully he continues to play!

He solo-queued, using a rank 11 account (my second account, actually, which I mostly use for banking. It seemed like the safest way for a new player to try things out). I was watching over his shoulder and talking him through it. So I wasn’t actually logged on to the game.

He chose one of the characters, we picked a spec from BattleWiki and he watched me play a couple matches. They went pretty well, and aside from one or two wolves or tigers hiding amongst the hares, everyone seemed compatible. Then he gave it a shot and got absolutely crushed. I was surprised he (or his team) was able to score any points at all.

We’re gonna give it another shot tomorrow, but this was not the intro I was hoping for.
