Reading the forums and interacting on some topics got me thinking.

It looks like the Tempest could be an amazing healer, if protected by other players.

The Berserker looks like a massive dps burster though I hope anet has the sense to realize that historically berserkers didn’t care at all about defense. That was what made them so scary.

Harness that with a bunker guard and you might have the second coming of The Holy Trinity. This would require a lot of teamwork and GW2 seems to prefer individual super heroes to teamwork.

Still, it’s worth thinking about. Well coordinated, this might be hell on wheels.

What was the first?

Currently, Bunker Guardian + Glassy warrior is currently the closest “trinity” type comp you can ask for. It works well but there are some obvious setbacks with it.

I was thinking of GW1. Now add a Tempest Elementalist ( Monk ) to your Bunker Guardian + Glassy warrior combo. See where that might lead?

Maybe, just maybe.. ANET is trying to steer back toward cooperative play?

Couldn’t you accomplish the same thing by just using a Staff Ele anyway?
All the Tempest is adding is another Heal/Cleanse every so often that can be very easily disrupted, in exchange, he loses out on either more Boon spam, better healing, or Stone Heart…

Tempest brings perma-protection and huge heals for him and their teammates, but its losing so much self-sustain, CC and dmg compared to Staff, that I dont know if its worth for this extra team support

Lets see for what comes for new “Challenging Group Content”.

I have a feeling all of the Elite Specialization’s are preparing us for it.

Well, we currently have a satanic singularity with elementalists so who is going to want or need the holy trinity? DD Elementalist can heal like a monk, bunker like a warrior, and spike like a thief. No need for trinity. Embrace the flaming singularity.

Edit: Of course, there is a need for the trinity in real life…

By Holy trinity you mean : Berserker, DD cele ele, Mesmer?

Not to mention the casting time is stupidly long so anything can be interrupted, and no stab avaiable, so it will be pretty much useless.
