Hey Guys,

For most of you who may not know me, I am Morfeus aka Morfeus X (Tenth of Tyria). Since I am trying to migrate my way back into spvp, I was thinking of something that we could do before custom arenas comes out. This would be to populate certain servers that are dedicated for Team Deathmatch. A lot of of just sit in the mists and do nothing. With that amount of time we could’ve bought a legendary (if they existed) for 5mil glory if hotjoins were more versatile.

As many of you know, there are a ton of servers that are not used and tend to be used just for dueling. So why not make dedicated servers known to the community as Team Deathmatch servers?

Custom arenas will solve this but I know this could be a lot of fun because I have tried it with a few of my good friends already. We had a blast. All of us got around 700 glory each and that was just on one map. I would love to dedicate servers such as 295-305 as Team Deathmatch servers.

With TDM, you gain glory much faster and are having more fun at the same time. More builds become fun to play again because everyone will be isolated in one area. The concerns of some people will be there will be a guy who caps points to annoy everyone. But if you think about it, thats fine because he would be wasting his time. He or she will not get as much glory and have nearly as much fun, while everyone is still doing TDM as they’ve wanted to for so long. Maybe if we had enough people converge to playing this, ANET might rethink about adding TDM to the game.

This is a great idea, but I feel like with custom arenas, community run tournaments would be better for us as a community. Obviously they are “Private” servers you can do with them what you will, I just feel like we can force esports to happen with this feature. Sort of like in SC1 how that community did.

Yeah I understand that. But this is until custom arenas comes out. And we do not know when that is coming. A lot of us have waited enough and want something to do until then.

Yeah, hopefully they come soon, or soonish.

100% support for this. we would do this a few months back where we would start out duelling then set up 2v2s / 3v3s as the game filled up until we could start a full match on the next map rotation.

i am in a tough spot atm, as i’m sure many are, where we are the last of X players who previously played. something like this would let tourney players congregate & players can be tested without higher ranked players feeling like they have to put rating on the line just to play with someone new.

if server #s are agreed upon, i will be there to practice & meet with all you fine murderers.

Don’t even stop at TDM. Designate a few TDM’s and some KoTH servers.

TDM is simple enough. Don’t cap points. KoTH is also simple. Only fight at Mid.

I recommend keeping it on the 10 man servers because they are never used right now and you won’t get as many randoms jumping in.

I would hop into the servers to support this. It is a great way to get some diversity in the PvP of a game that is notably lacking in that department.
