The guild challenger league rewards came out today.

I’m extremely disappointed with the contents of the reward chests and want to hear other peoples’ thoughts and counter arguments as to why these are acceptable rewards for 2 months of playing sPvP.

I received 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze reward chest.

I also received 2 copper reward chests, but those are bugged and no one has been able to open them as reported and seen here on the forums.

Here is the data for the chests I were able to open:

GOLD:

• 20 Eggplants (or ?)
• 20 Elder Wood Planks (or Mithril Ingots?)
• 10 Potions of PvP Reward
• 25 Shards of Glory
• 1 Guild Challenger League Decoration

SILVER:

• 15 Mithril Ingots (or Elder Wood Planks)
• 15 Elder Wood Planks (or Mithril Ingots)
• 8 Potions of PvP Reward
• 20 Shards of Glory
• 1 Guild Challenger League Decoration

BRONZE:

• 10 Intricate Totems (or some other t5 mat?)
• 10 Piles of Incandescent Dust (or some other t5 mat?)
• 6 Potions of PvP Rewards
• 15 Shards of Glory
• 1 Guild Challenger League Decoration

TOTAL (of my 5 chests):

• 20 Eggplants
• 65 Elder Wood Planks
• 40 Potions of PvP Reward
• 100 Shards of Glory
• 5 Guild Challenger League Decorations
• 10 Intricate Totems
• 10 Piles of Incandescent Dust
• 45 Mithril Ingots

I suppose what I’m annoyed with is not so much the contents of these chests, even though I see no possible use for egg plants by sPvP players (hence the title of this thread), because it was relatively easy to make a team, win or lose one match, and place on the boards, so this may be justified.

My issue is with the spread of the contents. Gold teams received 4 more potions of pvp reward than bronze teams. In 2 months, only 24 (2-25) teams in game were privileged enough to be receive 10 potions of pvp reward. Let that sink in. I can get 12 potions of pvp reward from spending 5 minutes doing dailies, spread out over 2 days.

Thoughts?

What are eggplants used for?

If they’re all multi accounts for the same people I’d say give them less for making a mockery of the season. If they’re legit then yeah that’s pretty bad.

Wow i didnt know you could get multiple rewards for multiple teams i thought you could only get rewards for your highest team. I understand you not being happy with the rewards.

The people from my guild were more excited for the trophy and unfortunately it was a little disappointing. Our Guild rank was 29 so this was the silver trophy.

Try playing WvW for the first two years of GW2, and play some more from then until now.

Your rewards will look liked the heavens opened and gods bounty poured out by comparison.

Unless its mindless, effortless pve, Anet has no kitten clue.

no need to be sad about my post, when you do need to be sad is when you and your buttbuddies get rekt by 5 solo players

After the exploit due to stronghold and mesmers, is fun that anet decided to give reward instead skip to the next season.

It could have been worse. It might’ve been WvW tournament seasonal rewards.

The rewards in this game have always and will continue to be absolute garbage. To expect anything else is to set yourself up for disappointment. More boxes in boxes please.

Well the rewards are basically nothing. We have the Platinum Reward Chest, and I thought it give a little reward, but really NOTHING. It’s 2 PvP Potions more then the gold one, and that’s it.

The Guild Decoration Tokens are the same, so it doesn’t matter that you are Top 1 or what ever. We got many chests, because we placed many teams in good Spots but next season, we will just form teams, do 1 Match and get 100+ 1000 Chests and we will get WAY more rewards than this.

I think it should be rewarded if you place first or 2-25, otherwise no one will play Guild Challenger anymore.

The rewards are generous. The competition was low (it should be very hard to have more than 1 team in top 100, yet some people even had several teams in top 10)

I have never, ever in my 3 years of playing GW2 opened a chest and got something that was even remotely useful or cool. It’s just the way it is, quantity over quality, it’s the GW2 moto.

lawl ive received two ascended armor chests this last month, playing only hotjoin, which by the looks of it beats all your rewards.

I had to wait over a year to get my chest for season 1 from wvw, dem couple coppers were sooo worth it!
