(imo) What we needed on release was multiple battleground types instead of “4” different capture the flag maps …

I mean this isn’t anything new, and other games have different battleground maps already. Why not implement a capture the flag map/ King of the Hill/ or just a pure Kill map where u had to reach X points and u gained Y points per player kill?

I mean it’s been a while since I’ve played GW1 but I’m pretty sure they had different spvp maps even then and there. Even the current maps could be converted to other designs.

-Forest could be used for a king of the hill type of map
-(cant remember the map name with the Lords but that could easily be a capture the flag type map)
-Cappricorn, for the love of all that is foo this doesnt need to be a cap point map…ruins+ sharks ruin it…straight up kill map would work better

You made a goof in the first bit of your post: What we needed on release was multiple battleground types instead of “4” different capture the flag maps.

Other than that, it’s not safe to bet on more gamemodes until the initial gamemode has been perfected. Currently, they’re balancing around capture points.
Imagine Capture the Flag with the current balance.
Mesmer grabs flag. Mesmer captures flag.
Mesmer grabs flag. Mesmer captures flag.
Rinse and repeat, win.
Each game mode will require specific balance changes, and it’s a lot of work to put on the devs’ shoulders.
Maybe in the future. Definitely not now. Don’t throw in more content when the initial content isn’t even done.
I’d rather have one functional gamemode than two broken ones.
