Anet, please give us just a little bit od epic, hardcore content in this game. From what I know you try to make another PvE out of PvP. PvP used to be something dedicated to skilled players. Now it becomes a content for every casual, unskilled noob. That kinda sucks. Learn from WoW, don’t make skilled and hardcore equal to unskilled and casual.
the original sPvP population is close quite low, not at a healthy level.
they did what they had to do in order to revitalize the sPvP population, drawing some from the existing steady PvE / WvW crowd is the best option they have.
spvp is already dead..i see more old players (The few ones still playing..) going pug in tpvp than with proper teams including me..went in top 50 with lame condition-bunkers + wars team (Yeah meta…and pretty much no real effort) then realized high ladder positions are worthless in this sotg and playing with bunker team is boring so started going pug (Not soloq cause cheesehammer, lamewatch and afkers/4v5). With no rewards for top ladder there’s no point on wasting time arranging teams, waiting for mates and so on…just go pug with whatever you want and that’s all, more enjoyable for sure…i don’t even know if i’m still on ladder atm and I don’t give a kitten since i’m having way more fun now..not refusing to go with low mmr friends “omfg i can’t lose cause ladder”, not always looking for who’s online and what are they running in order to arrange your team, not forced to play always bunker guard cause my other mains are out of meta…bring the kitten you want and play, i have to say that even if going pug alone i loose many vs terribad teams (Since you still get premades sometimes if their mmr is low enough) it’s the best pvp i had since months..without decent rewards for being in top ladder i think there’s no reason at all to go back to boring “cheese to win” kitten…i suggest you all to try it out, stop caring about worthless ladder just showing who has the most lame team and start going for fun, like it should be..you can go back on top again if needed but for now…relax..atm you won’t get kitten anyway regardless if you’re top 10 or 50% …real top teams already left time ago so there’s nothing to prove anymore, lost esport chance many months ago and this will never be anyway…so just go relax and have fun..
