I like the dancing on podiums. I feel like they weren’t trying to fix anything, it’s to add an odd and more competitive aesthetic to the winner circle of pvp. That’s just me though.

I find that when you win, the end is even more satisfying.
I dont like how the banner always covers the person in the middle
It interrupts those super-fun end-of-match fights, and if you LOSE it’s just degrading. It’ll make salty players saltier, and smug players more smug. It’s not sportsmanlike at all, and it’s one of those things that – while small – makes a difference in how people behave. If you haven’t seen it already, just wait and watch.
And there’s nothing odd about it, it’s just like every victory screen in every game except you get to use some recycled animations and you don’t get to view any stats. I imagine this was done because they wanted to be more like other tournament games.
I really don’t think PvP needed any help being competitive. Assuming you’ve played PvP before, it should pretty clear that everyone is perfectly competitive on their own, no help needed.
I can’t even count how many times I’ve been embarrassed and ridiculed at the end of the match since the implementation of the victory pose screen. It’s just toxic and really twists the blade in a wound if you’ve lost.
The loss of camera control kills it for me. Would rather not have it in like this.

I’m not really a fan of the new screen – it’s a flat downer that makes the losers want to leave the match ASAP… and what glory does a victor get from an empty crowd?
If I were to redesign it, I would allow some form of “griefing” from the losing side – maybe have them throw some rotten fruit… or at least do something that says, “you may have beaten me now, but I’ll kick your ass next time!”. Everyone loves a friendly challenge, right?
If I were to FIX it, I would remove this ending screen entirely and revert back to how it was previously. What’s the problem with a game going into overclock in order to finish a fun duel?

That would be amusing actually. The entire 5man team could throw tomatoes/fruit at the person they hated/found annoying the most. So much better than corpses on the ground

- Perhaps a Tally of how much rotten tomatoes and salt (literally) a player normally gets?
BTW I like the pedestal.
- Instead of the dance, let us unlock cool looking fireworks as we progress through the league. Maybe even show off our stomp finishers on the pedestal.

I have to say, if it had stats and the ability for griefing them, I would really enjoy that a lot more. Especially if it had an actual rating component like you suggest, Saiyan, because at least then you’d have a visual way of kind of crowd-shaming. The two most toxic flaming players on each team will get SLAMMED with tomatoes/salt and have to consider their actions.
I would still prefer the option of finishing fights though. That was the most fun thing about matches was that, win or lose, you’d get epic fun fights ESPECIALLY at the end! And since the game didn’t boot you, you could enjoy them fully every time. I want to stress how great that was when the game didn’t end the most intense part of the action until the players were ready.
Transforming the loosers on crawling babies and they have the ability to move left or right when the ‘Victory’ screen is enabled , while trying to collect a random throwned on the ground pressent , in 5 sec .
If some1 from your team or the enemies have mominated you with+1 you gain movemnt speed , and your speed is reduced if you got reported by afk by most .
Or each player can hold a chainsaw and start trimming the Winner’s podiums !

+1 to salt-throwing option, 10 salt pips give you a packet of salt for food crafting.
5,000 packets for legendary pickaxe. Bonus salt while mining.
100,000 packets for +20 achievement points and the title “Salty”.

It is fine. Don’t cry loud enough to have it changed please. If you don’t care for it I’m pretty sure WvW and PVE are lacking in victory podiums atm. This was not designed to intentionally anger people. It is clearly a result of a sense of humor. The victory screen cracks me up.
The part where both teams used to stay on the map, however, sounds like something that needs to come back. That actually sounds fun (new to PvP).
The old system of matches just popping up with the victory notification and then allowing players to finish fights was INFINITELY more satisfying.
No, it was not. It was annoying as hell to not be able to look at the final stats etc. in peace because some people always felt like they needed to continue to attack you like raging wackoes.

In my considered opinion; the new match ending is sad. It promotes ego stroking and is nasty to the losing team. Who thought this was a good idea?
I know, let’s give the winners an extra chance to troll and humiliate the losers. Not only will that promote sportsmanship.. it’s likely to encourage the losing team to keep playing.

I don’t. I do not enjoy humiliating the enemies (because frankly that is what new victory screen as) more than we already do. Also, if you take current MM into account it gets even worse. You win 500-100, then you dance on their corpses? I personally just feel bad :/ Oh great, i am put together in the same bunch of people that have the need to show off their superiority/trashtalk other and i can’t do anything about it beside leaving match really fast :|

Simplest solution right now would be to give the losing team their own room to, just a less festive one.
Simple fix to what is a deliberately degrading “you – the losing team – suck!” is to be more subtle about it – have the two teams facing each other, with the winners cheering and the losers adopting a sad stance. This forced “these guys are the heroes, those are the corpses” is just not appropriate for when games end 495-500. :|

I find it hilarious.Absolutely no understanding how there are so many players having their feelings hurt by it. Weird.
You don’t seem to understand, I’m living vicariously through my character here. Every time I lose on my character I feel the urge to buy an Identity Repair Kit because people will remember my name & face and shame me at every corner.
The reality though, is that no one really cares, not even the people who insult you, because after 2 minutes they will be pondering where to spend that Transmutation Charge, over thinking about how you under-performed.
Have some mental toughness guys. It’s how you can deal with this change (if you don’t find it funny).

its a placebo guys…. to atrack the kewl kids that want to play a gimmick pvp game.
Players today dont want to care to be good, game industry just needs to deliver the kewl effect, and they will get popous about it how they look kewl, so they must be good.
Nowadays standards in game industry are more about pretending than actually do something.
just ignore it….. this crap addons, its the only thing ANet can do in the pvp gamemodes add stuff to look kewl.

i would have accepted this new victory screen if:
1 Matchmaking
2 Build diversity
u cannot add more fuel to a fire filled with limited build diversity, a kittenton of pug stomping classes and an absolutely kittenty matchmaking which punishes players if they not absolutely hardcarry.
fix this and the trashtaling would be more bearable.
pvp isnt toxic,ppl are. there is nothing wrong with new pedestals,if you find that toxic,dont even play pvp,bcs you gona find 1000x more toxicity there.

I actually like this addition, was allways anoying every time i was trying to look at the match stats having someone trying to kill me lol…but i guess dancing over the bodies of your enemies maybe is a little unnecessary, i honestly dont mind, but for those who care about this kind of thing, maybe they could add other emotes, like “bow” or “salute” to show some respect for your adversary.
I agree in which is bad: prevents interesting duels on run at the end of the match and no one uses the new stage since I see that both most of the winners and all the losers leave the match instantly after is done.
I guess that is a poor ANet attempt to make the matches faster.

You can’t make it personal (“I don’t like it because it humiliates me”) and then expect the defending ones not to make it personal.

I found myself getting out of pvp asap after a match, while in past, i finished fight, opened loot bags etc. It’s disgusting. And now that i won a few matches, other then to troll it doesnt give my victory more thrill. The instant port is the most annoying part. It kill the dynamic of the fight.

PvP needs help, of time machine. All hope is gone back in 2012 and once more with Stronghold.

For me it is vice versa. Honestly old system was lame, and should not been in place to begin with. You looks at match stats, to analyse your team performace while some try hard losers trying to kill you.
I think the victory screen is just… poorly designed. It clashes with almost everything else in the game except for cutscene transitions; it’s unrefined.
All that happens is a teleport, camera lock, skillbar change, and then a huge, ugly UI pops up covering absolutely all of that.
ANet obviously is trying to go for the Overwatch aesthetic(maybe this is in other games too, I don’t… really play pvp games much), but they missed out on the value of properly ending gameplay when the match is called, fading to black, and then showing the victors + match details – with the details not actually obscuring the fancy win screen.
Plus, since the victory pedestals show actual characters, half the time most of the party has already left the match so it’s just your own character standing there looking stupid with four vacant pedestals.
I hesitate to call it a step back, but at this point there’s so many other unaddressed issues that between this and the new but almost entirely functionally identical HotM map that a lot of this just feels like wasted dev time.
I also feel like having the losing team be “dead” during the victory screen is just unnecessarily rude. I already have to look at these other guys after they’ve won; there’s no need to just rub it in further. (And if I’ve won? I’d rather have dealt the killing blow than see a bunch of script-inflicted corpses…)

Other games don’t try to humiliate the losing side by rubbing in the loss while having the winning team dance over your dead bodies. At least I have yet to see one where it’s a thing.

I was once recruited in a small PvP clan after fighting (and losing) in a fierce match. Chat usually has so much bile that players probably wouldn’t ever worry to reply any incoming message coming a team desecrating their corpses.
Also I always saw the “dancing upon the defeated enemy” in Unreal Tournament a bit a combo between being childish and having some mental kittenation.
It is a hint, you should be careful where you spend your money. If these pathetic were wasting their time making such feature, do you think people will buy in their products?
They should focus on fixing the glitches and bugs in maps and classes weapons and overall balance. Yeah, good luck getting a cent from people who can’t absorb these changes.
They should at least added an option where we get to skip this feature. It seems with every update, it is a forced pipe up where the sun do not shine-plus the goons who keep cheering for these changes are the biggest tools in the entire game.

If they simply removed the dead bodies of the defeated team, that would solve the issue. The important thing is that now you can look at your stats at the end of a match without being attacked all the time.

There’s nowhere near enough time to get the information I want. It’s information overload; you’re trying to convey so much information in a short time over five tabs in two different sections that my eyes can’t focus on anything at all.

Players have enough ego as it is. They don’t need another reason to rub it in the losing teams’ faces. It promotes a bad atmosphere, both for the winners and losers.
