Before HoT and before Anet implemented a legendary backpack for ranked, usually people who enjoyed ranked and understood it played. We invite players to play, we were all noobs once! ^^ We all “started from the bottom”, however something that is really really annoying and is literally destroying the game for me in ranked are people who come to play, but come to play as a stubborn little child. These people do not say hi, they do not coordinate, they do not talk to you, they do not help, they literally isolate themselves and do not say one word. I’ve seen this ALOT in the last few months. Now this is bloody annoying. I have been playing ranked for 2 years solid. Never have I seen such discord and lack of community in this game.
Now perhaps this could be attributed to GW2 going to F2P and every Tom, John and Harry entering (which isn’t a problem) my problem is to TALK TO YOUR TEAM. COORDINATE. PLAY TOGETHER. YOU CANNOT WIN IF YOU DON’T WORK TOGETHER. So many people just play, think they know everything and when you try and help or coordinate they just say “screw yourself I’ve been playing for 12 hours”. Now I’m sure people will disagree with what I’m about to say; which is that the level to enter ranked is too low. Level 20?! With time and practice comes experience, with experience you get better at the game, better able to contribute more to your team. I’ve been rank 80 for a long time now that doesn’t necessarily mean I’m better than someone who is a lower level but GENERALLY experience correlates with skill.
I just want a PVP where people TALK. COMMUNICATE. Act like a TEAM. It’s just so broken right now that walking away from Guild Wars 2 altogether is looking pretty good right now and considering I’ve invested about 7 years in GW1 and about 3 years in GW2 I think it’s a pretty decent request. The community is becoming more and more toxic, more and more elitist. Sometimes I understand why, because many of the new people think they know everything and that they’re invincible! NO ONE IS. EVERYONE CAN IMPROVE! A good attitude, cooperation and kindness is all I ask for. If someone tries to help you, give you advice, listen. Doesn’t mean you have to take it on board, but does it kill you to try? You tell someone to go to the home point or far in this game and you get spat in your face and most of the time people just AFK and sit on their kitten . It’s come to a point where GW2 causes me more stress than enjoyment.
