The way of the Warrior in PvP:ugly and brutal
>highly competitive tournament PvP
>shows video stomping a PUG in first round
thanks for the laugh
edit: oh second video is teamplaying with ts in spvp … you guys … i can barely breath! please stop for the sake of my health this kitten is too funny
So what? He just wants to help. But, I think that’s how all dps focused melee classes play…go in..go out..heal..rinse and repeat. Even as a nub I played like everyone was a fed Talon or Vayne. I guess pve would have a really tough time if that’s what they’ve been doing in wow for 7 years or whatever. Maybe people with fps backgrounds just do better with warriors, so they don’t qq as much. I liked the vids regardless.
Everytime my guild go paid..I swear that I need to beg my friend to use his hammer or mace build, a warrior played intelligently is a great asset to any team…but that’s true for all professions

Massive AOE 3 second stun every 8 seconds? Yes, please.
It seems to me that Warriors are now facing the same issue thieves were facing at launch.
They are borderline unbuffable. 100Bs is a damn good skill. It is arguably too good given its CD, damage, etc. Any buffs to a Warriors survivability or damage elsewhere will just make the Warrior OP. What will likely have to happen is the Warrior will need to take some small nerfs to the 100B build and in compensation receive some buffs to other builds.
The thieves had the same problem with HSS and later BS. They are now receiving some small benefits for those nerfs with an attempt to make pistol more viable.
Bola instead of balanced stance can work but don’t get me wrong, this is too much passive play. You have to know the cool downs of whatever crowd control that was used in that team fight. Better yet seek out a target who can’t really CC you back.
Personally I wouldn’t use it because I prefer the best way to go aggressive at this moment.
Looks like some pretty good roaming to me.

Stop spreading lies, its a 2s stun if you have full adrenaline and the AOE isn’t any more “massive” then other ground targeted AoEs.

I would gladly eat a HB nerf for viability. HB requires far too much set up to be worth it, making it a situational at best. I could honestly count the times HB has registered as the highest damaging skill when I’ve been killed on one hand if you chopped some fingers off it.

Because Warriors are so one-dimensional and lacking in flexibility, I’ve tried many strategies on Battle of Kyhlo with my guild team to find out the best way to make use of a Warrior on that map.
Out of desperation, it turns out that Warriors are very decent as trebuchet user. Since they lack survivability whatsoever but have strong burst, the isolated environment of the trebuchet allows the Warrior to utilize their 1v1 potential the most. If no one can defeat the defending Warrior at the trebuchet, that means the Warrior will be supporting his team constantly with trebuchet fire. Because enemies are not destroying the trebuchet, that means less time is spent repairing it = more up-time on trebuchet fire.
I have to admit though that it’s kind of sad that a class intended for the roaming role must pigeon-hole himself to the trebuchet in order to desperately find viability in the tournament PvP scene.
IT IS NOT GLAMOROUS TO BE A WARRIOR IN TOURNAMENT PVP folks. That is the point I am trying to illustrate. There is a lot of discrimination vs Warriors in PvP.
Secret method that makes it so effective: Death from Above trait.

One-dimensional huh? Are you implying that Warriors should have triple swap then? At this point they might as well.
Also there should be a better way to defend a Treb than your set-up..
I’d also like to point out that in most of your Treb defense videos, you’re fighting new players. I’d like to see how that set-up works against people who know what their doing to be frank.

Use other builds that don’t involve the GS. Communicate for condition removal and stability if you don’t have your own stability buff. As a warrior focus on classes like thieves when ever you can, especially if you’re rocking a rifle and can land the kill shot, same goes for rangers when you’re playing a warrior. I love my warrior spec and I feel it is pretty diverse. I run dual axe and either the rifle or long bow, pretty fantastic for most 1v1 or for aoe point control/defense. Longbow 3, long bow aoe fire, pop ult for swiftness, fury etc… stand on the point with axe 5. With my spec, at the end of that axe 5 I have full adrenaline again and some might stacks, anyone near me is bleeding and burning plus the combo field for allies. Rinse repeat or pick a target to eviscerate.
Also, let’s not forget how amazing underwater warrior can be. Sure maybe not many care about underwater or think it’s fun (although I love it), let’s face it, on one map it’s pretty kitten important.
Warrior is wayy to unflexible. HB is way to easy to dodge. Warriors are too squishy (Endure Pain has such a high cooldown..). Their condition removals are kitten.
Also those are paid tournaments? I see more skill in 5v5 hotjoin O_o
EDIT: With inflexible I mean that they don’t have any ways to surprise enemies. The only thing warriors bring is frontal damage. Hammer warriors are strong but are wayy to easy to counter with blinds.
The damage they bring isn’t even so high. I rather have a triple meditation guardian with greatsword than a GS-warior.

@OP: Honestly I’d still rather have a mesmer or thief on that treb for those situations. Yeah your war defended them ok, but often at low health close calls or winning though down state on one instance. A mesmer or thief can accomplish the same with far less ‘close calls’ even in the 2v1 situation you ran from on your warrior.

I’m not necessarily bashing anyone right now though. I would’ve been against triple swap or anything that made Warrior broken as hell if you could swap in-between out of combat. But now that “It is intended so that you can’t swap in-between out of combat in matches” it wouldn’t be bad to have.

oh you did it again … come on … not fair
