I think we all got used to it, but this is still definitely the case. The game still has way too much vigor, too many blocks, too many immunities, and too many evades. It almost feels like the game actually has miss, hit, block, and parry rating because there are so many evades that they’re unpredictable to the point they feel random.

Said the necro that has a defensive mechanic that dosent use any of these that you have listed. You are extremly biased on this subject.

Not every class has 2 life bars or 3k armor so yes you need either evades or blocks to survive sorry. I can say that necros have so much HP that it feels like they can eat random damage without dodging just like a thief can random dodge some attacks.

Death shroud or evades dont need a nerf. This game already has too much random damage so we need random evades or sustain to counter that.

This is not an FPS game its not totally skill based there is a random factor and luck involved.

And i think the ’’random’’ factor makes the game better, if everything was dodgeable /predictable this game would be lame.

Even Sizer said it once on his stream that sometimes you dont counter people with skill but with mind games Your skill wont help you against a good S/D thief you have to play mind games to force him to make mistakes so he dosent evade all your stuff.

Anet nerfed vigor and minor endurance trait on engi, mesmer, guardian and ranger

War and necro are fine.

As long as you admit it’s basically random, that’s fine. It can be up to the developers whether they think that kind of randomness should exist in the game.

Personally, I’d prefer if the game had a little more counterplay when it comes to damage and evades. And that can be done without making everything avoidable and predictable.

Its not random. Having many dodges just give you more survivability. A thief that random dodges will still die extremely quickly. Because all u have to do against a spammer is auto attack until no evades left and then use real burst and CC.

Ya, they should at least take away the mesmer’s heavy armor and max health pool. When anet combined their heavy armor and max health pool with them using smoke and mirrors as their only defense it was too big of a buff.

Agree here too, with the amount of boon spam warriors crank out, it’s too much. Once I get through the warriors aegis, then I have to deal with his prot and regen triggering. Just ridiculous. And all the while he’s sitting in the dark fields he keeps throwing down spamming blind everywhere, I can’t hit anything. Kitten anet!

How does not being able to read have to do with your disagreement in their balance changes?
Honestly I think they have taken good steps towards the excessive dodging. I feel eles still need a vigor nerf as well instead of leaving them, I find this to be a must change to taper down the ele and bring it more into balance. As for theif, it’s only feline grace that’s the issue. It’s activation is too frequent. The other evades really shouldn’t be changed anymore than they already have and something like increasing the cd slightly on withdraw might be detrimental. Necros don’t have vigor in the first place and it would be nice to give them some access to it themselves instead of relying on passives from other classes. Yes they have shroud as the defense/sustain but shroud gain is very limited and once it’s gone they are easy picking. They need to have some better access to other sustain besides relying totally on shroud alone.

Definitely. Too many classes have way too easy access to vigor.
Dodges are incredibly strong and having the luxury of permanent vigor makes people spam them. This is not good for the game, because it promotes lucky dodges rather than thoughtful ones.
I’m hoping the vigor-traits will get changes again at some point.

There’s already counter to evading. It’s called immobilize.

Weakness also plays a role.

you can dodge 9 or more times in a row on thief with 15 acrobatics, runes of adventurer, energy sigils, agility signet and vigor.

Evades aren’t really an issue at this point. I’d rather fight someone who had plenty of evades than any of the 3 OP specs:

To many blocks: I dont think so, except for guardian I never see people blocking all that much. Its fine.

To much immunity: Meh, its on a long cooldown. Just kite. I don’t see this as a problem whatsoever.

To many dodges: Oh well. Maybe a full acrobatics thief has 1 or 2 dodges/teleports/stunbreakers to much. Sometimes I really struggle against great mesmers, too. Crazy movement and damage mitigation.

In general though. I don’t see this as a problem, either.
When I first started out on my warrior (first char) I always thought people went super lucky all the time dodging my big hits. I was so unexperienced I could not believe someone would actually be able to read an eviscerate and dodge it in time so it lead me to believe the dodges were random.

Now though, after many hours of Pvp. Its not that random after all. It just takes practice.
I agree on one part though. In a group clash there are bound to be random dodges at some point, but there are numerous counters to that, too.

Vigor traits were nerfed, but at the same time, the shared cooldown on sigils was lifted. So builds which didn’t use Sigil of Energy before that change snatched it up, and as a result there are more dodges, not less as ANet intended.

Can we stop listing S/D thieves as too many dodges? It’s not just S/D. It’s Acro thieves.
Check: Snuffles, Me, and a few other D/P acro thieves that dodge almost as much as S/D thieves.
