I’ve just been on one of these servers to see how skyhammer zerg vs zerg is.
But instead of fighting normally they just hit eachother and fall down to get over 200 rank/glory points a minute.

There’s multiple servers that are doing this at the moment and they are always full.
Soon we will see rank 50 and higher that have only been farming like this and their skills will be like rabbits.

Rank didn’t mean anything, only that you have played the game for x hours.
So it did actually show you have experience with pvp. may it be from spvp zerging or tpvp.
But now it really means nothing since people can get from r1 to r50 in a few weeks.

Anyone else share their opinion about this?
Or is this considered completely normal…

What’s wrong with that? They will have absolute zero competitive stats, and only those matter, at least for me.

its been going on for a while but the devs don’t care. when the game first started they did major bans for people selling karma bought items for gold. But that was a PvE infraction. just in case you were shocked by this: this is a PvE game. they don’t care what happens in PvP. I also saw one of those servers and in 5 minutes those guys had around 1k glory.

and when the devs do finally fix it, it will just be some band aid fix like “falling deaths no longer grant rank points”

I was going to make a post about this, I think its stupid because it took me a year of pvping to hit r40 and now there are loads of scrubs hitting 50 who are worse than r10 players.

Eh, let them have their fun, rank is borderline meaningless besides prestige and they’ll be high ranked players with inappropriate skill for their level anyway, their funeral.

but how else am i gonna get my shark finisher? maybe if i could stand playing more than 2 or 3 spvp games in a row.

its fair that it takes an obscene amount of time to rank up in PVP but I dont think what’s going on in these servers is how its meant to be done lol

They should finally remove the personal score, and reward the winner/looser with a fixed score, if they at least contributed a little. That would fix a few problems.

It does add some confusion between rank and personal skill though. Oh, how about qualifying points? Anet could add them back for team\solo tournaments as measure of one’s accomplishment.

I see people in map chat asking for lf2m team queue rank 40+
People can stop doing that now and invite a rank 10
Because that rank 10 might have more experience than that farmed rank 40 now.

With people farming rank this fast.. You cannot look at rank anymore to determine someones playtime/experience in pvp.

This reminds me of Red Resign day in gw1.. it was a community thing to farm a pvp rank(title) really fast and people could actually get banned doing it. (source gw1 wiki: Red Resign was officially considered cheating by ArenaNet. Participation in this form of match manipulation could have resulted in disciplinary action on a participant’s account.)

I guess it’s ok to cheat and farm ranks in gw2 then.

HAH – when someone in my guild started naked zerker only server, I suggested this would be faster. I hope there is lots and lots of abuse so ANet notices it.

Good for them if they feel their time spent farming ranks is worth. Ranks are a joke and require more grind than 30 GW2 together.

Skyhammer farm has been going on since they introduced skyhammer.

It’s funny and I personally find skyhammer extremely boring.

It gives a good general impression about the state of pvp in gw2 though: It’s all about skyhammer farm.

Then there’s these pvp rewards which are more like a joke but that’s another matter…

So here you have how that na guy made r70…always wondered how…rofl..
