Thief (and Warrior ) is fine
Supreme (calling you out, Idc tbh if you reply. just want people to read this and understand) is a prime example of why assassin classes, Thief in this game, are incapable of ever being viable passed release.
Assassin classes (they said Thief wouldn’t be, but we all know) are predicated and created on the idea that players with little to no knowledge of the game will be easy targets for them and those with higher knowledge will be fair game, the “I wish Thief could 1v1” concept. However, players refuse to admit that they have no idea how to learn to play – now you know where it came from- and then blame a class and its mechanics. No where in this games history has Thief EVER been game breaking, not as far as I can remember anyway. Maybe potent as it should be, but not flat out overpowered. However, players like Supreme prefer answers to be handed to them instead of reading into the problem and figuring it out. For instance, today’s Thief dies to weakness which is very easy to apply for MANY classes. On the downside, people don’t realize why Weakness is a powerful condition- reduces damage by 50% and reduces endurance regeneration by 50%. Something to note here, this killed Pistol Whip, and this killed “evade spam”. This condition also makes it near impossible to properly fight a Ranger as they get it when struck and also gain Protection.
Anyway, food for thought. Just wanted to offer that.
Last thing- Supreme:
1) your common video is literally a handful of months into the game, and follows the typical “game released, I haven’t played long, but obviously Assassin class is broken. as always, and I know everything about the game”
2) pointing fingers to make yourself look the hero, makes you look the villain. but keep it up, the transparent troll in you is already showing
3) But then Build D, crushed by Build A’s 9 and 10 point, can rise from the 5 position to the 9 position. This is balance. There is no perfect balance, there never will be. Buffs kill, nerfs kill. Buffs save, nerfs save.Have a wonderful day, going to do that thing where I make sure my team loses pips 3 matches in a row because I refuse to play anything other than Thief.
What are you?..ha yes the 1001 thief who tell other to L2P..such originality.
Can’t you guys change the theme of your song? It has been the same one since launch.
The best part of these type of answer is…they’re just a wall of text, and obviously lack logic.
Seen as you tell others to L2P, it must be obvious that you play their own profession better than them…then kittening prove it with a video and not empty words.
But hey..in over 4 years not a single thief ever showed a video of them playing another class in non bunker spec against thief
Keep telling to yourself how great you are..keep living in that “delusion of grandeur”

Indeed 10k dmg backstab from stealth are totally legit and require loads of set up and skill …oh kitten…no more 10k dmg backstab apparently ..everybody went tank mode to avoid being instagibbed…time to buff thief dmg because why not?!

You never saw mediguards fighting theives or are mediguards bunkers??
My moves are fresh, like my groceries.

You forget what the OP claims:
Our dps is noticeably lower than any other profession. But we do not provide group utility, or self capability.
Our sustain is minimal, and we have nothing to give to you for it because its value is so pathetic.
Our mobility is just barely the best, but we arrive where we’re going with very low resources compared to the next best option. Also, the pvp maps are so short that with everyone having massive mobility now as well we get maybe 1-2 seconds before that other guy comes. Not enough to decap, I assure you. I wish it were.
He basically complaint on how thieves get a fair fight against all other professions that use tanky builds( medguard is technically a bruiser like d/d ele ) when thief is the reason people run tanky builds in order to avoid unfair fights against the apex predator of zerker builds
Isn’t it funny?
Thieves always want people to run more sustain builds to perform well against them but ultimately thieves want buffs to maintain the advantage over sustain builds, basically asking to be extremely effective both against zerk builds and tanky builds.
So bottom line is you’re entirely OK with thief’s current position and feel like absolutely nothing should be changed about thief in particular in order to allow them to function with greater efficiency in today’s meta. Am I reading this right, Supreme?
You believe that there is absolutely nothing, design or gameplay wise, that can be changed to allow thieves to enjoy fights and to keep it from having everyone else from straight up giving up vs thief?
Supreme, I must say your reading comprehension is astonishingly low.
Original post was not “give us more damage, sustain, and speed” it was “why is this all so mediocre when we provide next to no group support or utility, and our boon/condition application is such garbage?”. I mean how do you get “we wanna be op” from “why are our capabilities so low when we have no application minus pure damage and speed, only the latter being noticeable anymore”.
Second one from Assassin discussion, I never asked you to prove your worth. I told you idngaf. I was telling people how the Assassin history line works.
To continue the Assassin train of thought (watched Inside Out, rip any pre-conceptions of what it looked like after that movie…) we are at the stage that Lotro was at near the 4 year mark, and LoL at the 3 year. We finally have negligible everything minus speed (and lotro was negligible everything but debuffs, and lol was usually a specialization of being either sneaky or hard to catch). This means, we are near the rework stage. If devs do it right, it’ll be good. However, they’ve shown an affinity for the easy path. This means random buffs to numbers, slight changes to traits, and a possible new skill concept. I am not bashing Anet, just noticing the history. Anywho, betting money that Supreme decides to call me bad or ignores my post. His tendency is to just be like “yo im da best, u r troll, gtfo”. Any takers?

Supreme your reply towards Serious Thought was completely canned and has nothing to do with what he said at all. I don’t want to join into this argument. But you literally just classified him into a “1001 thief who tell other to L2P” and then when on to comment on him/her as a person rather than comment on what he/she actually said (IE: Ad hominem).
Like your post is so decoupled from what Serious Thought said that he could have literally been talking about how bunnies reproduce and your response would still been a valid response. He doesn’t even need to mention thieves or L2P in any way for your response to work. Because since you call him a “1001 thief who tell other to L2P” your third sentence: “Seen as you tell others to L2P…” makes sense irregardless of what he says.
Heck your response was so canned and aimed at the person rather than what he/she said that I can use it as a response to my own post:
Midi, you are a “1001 thief who tell other to L2P.” Your response is “just a wall of text, and obviously lack logic.” And, “seen as you tell others to L2P, it must be obvious that you play their own profession better than them…” etc.
Edit: Ninja’d by Serious Thought >_>

The bottom line is that keeping the same line of buffing/nerfing will only lead to worst and worst meta, anet way of doing things is to add OP stuff to what’s not OP enough to compete with the already outrageously OP material
Yes! People should enjoy play thief and against it..but currently we can’t have both because fundamentally the thief design is bad and trust me it’s not the only one
Changes should happen and profession level for like every profession:
1) extreme burst and bunkering are too easily achievable
2) Too many insta skills with zero tell and that do far too many things in single instance
3) The passive sustain greatly outweigh the active one

You made a thread listing the things you consider weak..just for the sake of writing random stuff on the forums, am I right? After all you didn’t specify any “buff” word; because any kind of buff to current thief would make it as OP as the rest in the end.
About the assassin concept, maybe you’re not aware of the fact that in other games once the assassination fails, the assassin is forced into a direct fight ( there is no re-stealthing)
You guys in GW2 like to confuse the concept of assassin with stealth ganker which is what thief represent in GW2
http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/Stealth...the anet devs should take lessons from blizzard
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Stealth..or from eso where the enemy can prevent you from going stealth again
Yes…about one thing you’re right..and that’s reworking

Ah. If its this then I’m sure pretty much everyone here would agree with you.
