I am running a fairly aggressive condition build with d/d. I am focusing on bleeds with 30 points in Critical strikes, 30 in Trickery and 10 in Deadly arts. My skill setup is this currently
6 – Signet of malice – I like the short CD when combined with the trait Signet use
7- Infiltrators signet – The initative gain is to much to give up and the shadowstep is nice with d/d
8 – Signet of Shadows – The movement speed is nice because I tend to roam and back cap.
9 – Haste – Best skill theifs have imo… So strong
My real question is are there any skills which you think would help me improve.
I was thinking maybe trade out the speed(8) for needle trap/Caltrops/Roll for initive/Signet of agility.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated

I am thinking maybe dropping Signet of Shadows for caltrops.

If your running a thief in a condi build, might try using a trap or trick that puts on a bleed to help stack it faster, caltrops and the needle tap are useful when you land them right.

tbh, iv tried condition thief (30 points in trickery & acrobatic with a lot of evasive utility skills) and found it to be very lacking in damage, could survive for long time tho

might have done something wrong, next on my list to try is acrobatic thief that can do damage

Eh it could have been posted in the thief section but going d/d thief in PvE is kind of retarted with the way high level mobs work, getting in melee with them is the last thing you want to do, especially in the zones like Orr and the one before it where running into 1 is more running into a pack of 4 or 5 at a time, not the greatest melee place. Also for runes I would go with 5 of nightmare and 2 of afflicted for increased bleed duration and the +precision, +toughness +condi damage amulet, can get up a stack of bleeds that will tick upwards of about 7-8k in 5-6 seconds in no time flat. could also weapon swap to p/p go steath and hit with the pistol auto attack from stealth for another +5 staack to the bleed and use the sigils that give +10% bleed duration on both daggers and pistols.

I know this isn’t the exact right forum but I wasn’t getting that much from the thief subsection so I thought I would widen my audience. Sorry, if this is against the rules but I don’t think it is.

Sjach Darasv – That is what I was thinking. The 25% movement speed is nice but with caltrops I can stack bleeds and have a easier time getting away/getting to the target if they are kiting. Also, I am doing this for sPvP not for PvE but thanks.

MadGelo – I am running 30 Trickery, 30 Crit and 10 in either Power or acrobatics. My survivability is much better than when I was spamming heartseeker and I do a good bit of damage. Between haste and my ini regen I can easily solo most people and sometimes 1v2 people.

The condition build I am running seems to be very competitive I am just wondering what the general concensious is on Signet of Shadows vs caltrops/needle trap.

I do tend to wander a lot to back cap and what not so the 25% movement speed is really nice. I also seem to find myself in a bad position some times and a aoe slow might be nice along with group fights where an AoE slow would help against kiting

again it’s more situational, you can swap the abilities when they are not on cooldown and you are out of combat so if you are traveling you can swap from signet of shadows to caltrops before you get into combat and swap back when it comes of cooldown and back out of combat.
