Thief is a good and skill-based class, but

haha.
You don’t watch good thieves if you rarely see them use head shot (pistol 4). On demand daze is incredibly strong.

Yeah, that’s exactly the situation that applies to PvP…
Wrong section.
Anyhow.
Yes, Dagger and Staff AA are too strong, but ouside of that, it’s a proper set.
Also, like Browrain pointed out: If you never saw a thief use Headshot, you clearly never watched a half-decent Thief.
EDIT: Sword, Pistols and Dagger off-hand could indeed use a bit more love.

They make us wait months to the point where I actually leave the game and when I come back to see how things are going I see broken kitten like that from a balance patch lol.
Like seriously, quadruple epic face palm of death.
Thief doing 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 and hitting for 8-9k. Hahahahahahaha lol. Whatever.
Didn’t they reduced all the after cast as they said? though would love to see them in action w/o ping ralated issue
Between a master and apprentice, i would love to see the differences.
Also, like Browrain pointed out: If you never saw a thief use Headshot, you clearly never watched a half-decent Thief.
Isn’t that exactly the OP’s point?

the fact you take a PvE video and apply it to the drastically different world of sPvP 1:1 to support an argument is hilarious and very telling of your skill level.
edit: oh wow you main ele lmao
No wonder the tears are flowing so freely. I’m sure you were just as adamant about balance when you could stack 4 celestial d/d elementalists and win 99% of your games.

I know that good thieves use headshot and thats the sole reason why impacting disruption trait is used in d/p build
but good thieves is a very small fraction of thief players and even without the player being particularly good d/p is a strong option and it becomes even stronger in hands of a good player making it a headache of old d/d ele level to deal with

Dagger and staff hit as hard as greatsword on vanilla warrior or axe warrior. Does that mean warrior auto attack is too strong as well?
I regularly see rush hit for 5k+
Whirlwind for 4-6k
100B for 7-11k
Auto for 800-3.8k
These are similar numbers to weakening charge, vault, debil arc.

Compared to what? p/p thief? For a bad player, most viable builds are a better option than d/p thief. I’m thinking of condi necro, which is better when you know how to play it but is still very effective when you spam mindlessly (source: Leeto). Or of Scrapper, one of my mains, but that I only play marginally better than the terrible scrappers I see in game.
a bad thief with d/P is a living-instant-5pts-target, regardless of all the damage enhancement you can do on AA.
Well d/p has everything: damage, blinds, more blinds, daze, easy stealth, infinite gapcloses, an autoattack hitting more than heartseeker which also refills endurance, inflicts poison and weakness.
If only S/D could do half of those…
6k+ PvP games

Why do you link pve video in pvp forums? How is it even remotely relevant? Besides on my rev i was hitting for 12k AAs in raids while giving everyone and their mother might around me. Good for this guy to finally get into raid considering that most raid groups would never even think about bringing thief in raid (for past few months) and would tell you to gt*o if you tried to join as one.
Once again, thieves didn’t ask for AA dmg increase, they asked for better way to land damage (because of all blocks, invuls etc.) and better survival (due to massive aoe/CC spam).
Also, thieves suck, everyone asks Anet to remove them from ranked and moan every time thief ends up on their team. Thieves are doing ok, everyone asks Anet to nerf them into oblivion. Mannnn, this community~

Nothing funny tho, Anet buffed thieves to be viable to be in PvE Raid, and the damage boost will have major impact in sPvP. Makes perfect sense right?

You dont make sense lol
I would have liked to have seen a rate of fire increase on MH Pistols; or give them a warrior longbow #1 with a double tap. They could have cut the damage a little from current one shot damage on pistol #1 to keep it from being overpowered. That’s my idea anyway. Another kind of off-hand weapon for both sword/pistol would be nice too. Variety ya know.
If you really beleive that the “any can play/no skill theif” is a threat then that should just speak to how bad at this game you personally are.
Noob theifs are easy to kill – just because they have the tools doesn’t mean it doesn’t take skill to execute.
If you stand there and let the guy spam 1-1-1-1-1 at you – you’re just asking to die lmao !

Dat skill comparison tho. Let’s compare a hugely telegraphed attack that bugs out more than half the time to an auto chain that takes less than 2 seconds, and can do over 5k dmg on a heavy. WW is valid. 100B…are you serious? Only thing comparable to 100B on thief is Pistol Whip, don’t go comparing autos or skills that allow you to maintain your mobility to a 3.5 second long self root, no matter how strong it is, I’d actually be curious to see if HB dps is lower or higher than the new dagger auto, I’m pretty sure it’s lower. GS auto on warr is nothing incredible, its just plain average: 800 non crits and 1.2k on crit for every hit, takes 1.5sec to complete, so roughly 2.4k-3.6k dmg for the entire chain, and that’s in marauder/zerker ammy. Axe auto is strong as frick though and can go over 6k dmg if most hits crit without too much trouble, but you forget that it takes significantly longer to execute and not getting the last hit on the 3 chain skill is a HUGE dmg loss. Get those numbers right bro. Cheers.
