I have noticed many times that my interupt does not work against a thief who is stomping me, even though the thief has no stability and is not in stealth. Has any one else noticed this and/or any thoughts to why is it happening?

probably he is blinding you using the signet (i don’t remember the name)

yep.. blind is the case or lately most used shadowstomp (well, we have quickstomp so.. shadowstomp is a thief version)

Yes I thought blind or aegis could be possibilities; however, I’ve asked one thief who said he didn’t have aegis or blind me before the stomp so I thought I’d ask and see if others had experienced the same thing.

I’ll try and pay more attention to my conditions next time it happens. Since this has only happened against thief I suppose blind is the most logical explanation, although I usually attack once to clear anything like that before using my interupt.

I hit them a few times to make sure there is no blind and then click the knockback ability but sometimes it will not work. I ask some of the thieves if they used blind or had aegis/stability and they said they didn’t have any,so this is really strange.

Thieves got no 0 cast time blind on signet of shadows, which can be cast if he sees interupt animation coming.

Thats explains it no ?

blind per signet of shadows obvly, u can use it while you are in execute animation

you need to fraps it and then check in slow motion.. because it can be very fast.

As mentioned, Aegis and some Blinds doesn´t have any casting time animation and therefore can be casted during stomping instead of “precasting”. Ands thats likely the case. I do it with my mesmer so offten. everytime i stomp i just wait when i see my target doing interupts i hit my distorsion and .. stomp is finished..
Its pretty much visible when you are going to be interupted so aegis and blinds can be timed really well..

Thieves have a trait that blinds nearby foes when they Stealth.

So if they use Cloak and Dagger to perform a Stealth Stomp you will also be blinded in the process. Most Thieves also use Singet of Shadows which too can be used to Blind, even mid-stomp.

Yes I think this is the answer-I forgot about that trait. That would explain why the thief I asked about it said they didn’t do anything and was surprised when I didn’t interupt the stomp.

I guess the solution is to attack once before interupting.
