With the last “balance” update to all the classes I expected thiefs and their perma stealthing to be nulled down so that they arnt invisible 90% of the time. Perhaps when I read the patch notes I misinterpreted a lot of it but as for now are we going to see the stealth on them actually balanced at all? Or is this going to be one of the broken things in the game you plan on ignoring forever

You should be glad if a Thief perma-stealthes. That way he’s in no way contributing towards his team.

I’m complaining about it in all pvp in general because of how broken it is. The fact that they can stay invisible 90% of the time takes out almost all skill from a fight. The fact that they can regenerate back to full hp almost everytime they go into stealth adds too much survivability. And the fact that some skills are bugged with their stealth such as entangle on rangers.

You probably should post it on wvw forums. This isn’t the place to post it since there are zero issues with thief perma stealthing in a spvp setting.

Too many people crying all the time with not even knowledge of what are they talking.

This forum use to be cool, with cool people posting nice threads . . . now is nosense-QQ everywhere.

To be fair, I have dedicated very little time to thief, but I di have some experience with them. A lot of the survival nad active defense is tied to stealth. If they wish to cleanse conditions they stealth. If they wish you heal, there is a good chance they have to stealth. If they wish to achieve their bonus damage, they stealth. This is also some what of an issue for thief players who would prefer to be a little sturdy and rely on stealth less to do things that others can do at a click of a button. If kinda sits up their with cleansing ire. If you want to make use of it, first you need adrenaline and then you need to actually hit something. In the warrior’s case they have longbow, but not everyone wishes to use it. The thief has the same deal..first they need the initiative and now they need to hit something with a stealth skill simply so they can cleanse 1-2 problematic conditions off themselves.
Stealth maybe a problematic skill at times, but if you reduce it even more then a-net may as well remove thief from the game completely as it no longer has the tools to survive with its squishy nature and low HP.

Thieves can enter stealth about every four to five seconds since they have a four second reveal if they attack from stealth and a second to get back into stealth. Its not wise on initiative to multiple heart seeker black powder anymore so most are only staying in one round which is four seconds of stealth traited before attacking to get some regen, condition removal, or might if they are traited for stealth benefits.

The best thing for thief is to stealth w/ cloak n dagger or black powder + heart seeker, get some stealth benefits for three seconds, and pop back out and attack for four seconds before re-entering stealth. This is about our only way to stay alive as thieves are squishy as hell unless using p/d troll build or evade build that isn’t much of a threat. THIEVES ARE A HIT AND RUN CLASS, don’t expect them to play like warrior and try to face tank you.

They can still be attacked in stealth so if your melee keep cleaving you will probably nick them once or twice and its wise to strafe away from them so they can’t back stab you. I think about the max we can pull off now with shadow refuge + blinding powder + black powder and heart seekers is around 24-28 seconds in stealth but use all our cd’s and become essentially useless. Only a bad thief would do this.

The only thieves you see in WvWvW is those that cannot hack real PVP.

Oh and please, as desicated and ruined as our beloved PROPER PVP may be, do not confuse it with that joke of a mode you call WvWvW which is actually called “level 80 fully ascended gear, food buffed, boon stacked thief vs a level 9 guardian with a staff”.

Plus it gives the impression that thieves are OP in real PVP, when in fact they are in nerf limbo, and with the upcoming changes being for other classes I suspect thief will drop even lower.
