High production value. Lots of flash and style with no plot ~ just like a Jerry Bruckheimer movie. A+!

I’m just trying to bring a bit of balance to discussion, so that all that love and positves don’t go to OP’s head.

See, before you came to Desolation, we had this guy here, Auron was his name. He started off the same foot as OP – made a couple videos of him killing new players, gained a couple positive comments. Before you knew it, he was self-proclaimed Best Thief EU. There was not a single hour in the mists without him spamming links to his Youtube. Hell, you couldn’t even talk to the guy without stumbling over his Aura Of Superiority.

But he produced PvP content, so it’s all cool, right?
Look at it from new player’s perspective. You go do some PvP, hoping it’ll be cool. Then you’re facerolled by someone who put couple hundred hours into PvP. And you got recorded and posted on Youtube, for all to see how you got stomped.

Would you want more of it? Would you want to be a part of community who enjoys watching new players get destroyed?

I’m not saying it’s a bad video, it got nice entertainment value. And as Panda said, ‘cinematics’ are pretty sweet addition.

In the future though, I’ld skip the parts where enemies are clearly newcomers to PvP.

I don’t know whether to like it because of how ridiculous it is or hate it for the same reason.

Cinematics: 7/10
Audio/atmosphere: 6/10
Player skill: 5/10
Kills/opponents: 3/10
Overall: 5/10

I’d see this as an okish trailer for an introduction to a warrior class, definitely not a “pvp movie”. Hotjoin and baddie opponents, didn’t see any special show of skill on warrior either, no baiting/no pressure, just random BC+100 or SB+Evis that most of the people learned how to evade back in beta.

I dont get how can people criticize this. This guy clearly put a lot of effort into this video and he succed at making it interesting and fun to watch.

Sure fights are not balanced, sure he might play noobs, but who cares? Do you really think this game is going for esports fights? Ill give you a hint: No.

So whats the problem with someone making a good, entertaining video? Should he afk in the mists instead, like most people, trying to protect his invisible MMR? Please dont make me laugh.

The vid was good, it was fun to watch and shows newcomers how dangerous it is to stand still vs a warrior. Probably this can do more for our almost-dead pvp than writing wall of useless text on the forums (I include myself here).

So please, next time someone contributes to the community be more respectful or move to another “pvp best suggestion ever” thread

leave him alone, he didn’t pretend to be like super proor #1, he just made a short pvp video.

I didn’t say it wasn’t entertaining, I agree it has pretty nice cinematic value and it kinda gets you pumped up. But by posting this video for everyone to see in this forum, we have every right for constructive criticism/feedback. Having a subjective and honest opinion doesn’t make us cynical and bitter afk-warriors. I see no disrespect in the feedback so far, just varied opinions on what we were presented.

I liked it. Nice short clip with awesome editing.

17k hundred blades lol with a 8k eviscerate follow up. That will teach anyone where the stunbreak+dodge key is.

The only difference in tPvP is to bait the breaker then do the 100b. I still see good players get caught out by it. No one punishes someone harder the a warrior when they catch you napping or mid fight.

Nice video… though lamest tactic possible imo, I’d personally rather lose a fight than win one with frenzy + 100b (and I always play warrior), but maybe I’m too idealistic

now show the clips where you 100b someone with more than 1200 toughness or a stun breaker, they heal to full, and you fall over

I am begginer in making videos,this video have a few efects what i know in Sony Vegas,but i wanna learn more. I don’t think you guys should jump at him like this and talk about his pvp skills, he just answer to you. He tried to do a good video about a warrior and not show his pvp skills but more his movie editing skills.
Thomas keep making more videos, this is a way this game can be promoted.
Btw you did very good if you are a beginer in making videos.

For people that “surely care about the community” you guys have no problem jumping on and belittling someone who is trying to add to it.

editing was awesome, problem is this is a game where everyone has the same gear. it would of been entertaining if he had gear only the top 1% of players can obtain. similar to world of paladincraft or unbreakable in vanilla wow

I’ve made a lot of PvP videos myself (none for Gw2 yet, because I feel that battlegrounds are far from ideal for such things) and I can appreciate the work and editing here.

I also play a glass cannon 2her warrior, and definitely can respect that they’re more difficult to play than most will give credit for. You’re just about the easiest focus target on the map.

Furthermore, I think it’s obvious the OP was not out to demonstrate his “1337 skills” but just made the video for its cinematic, aesthetic, and face value qualities. Besides, it’s note like he was playing a thief/mesmer. ;P

Don’t listen to anybody discrediting your video, if they want to give you constructive critisim awesome, otherwise ignore them and keep it up!

If I can suggest next time you put in some plays where you show a bit more play before the burst, like they try spike you but you shield bash and turn it around on them. That would look really sick.

If people actully sound interesting when doing commentary….

I rather watch a crit montage than someone speaking in a monotone voice for 15min. and killing 1v3, 1v5 just means you killed 3-5 people who don’t know where their keyboard is. However a montage of someone owning many scrubs at the same time can also be very very entertainig
