Hey all, below is a couple things that I feel would make a healthier pvp experience in guild wars 2. I am sure that it has been brought up numerous times in the past, but none that I have seen. Well here I go.

Stats. I believe we should have armor templates each with its own separate stats (like gear outside pvp).

Currently all of our stats come from amulets. I don’t feel as though this creates a “play how you want” game because it requires you to build around your amulet. The core of builds should be focused on what traits are wanted and what gear would match to best bring out its potential, not the other way around.

World vs World has much more build diversity because of its ability to mix and match armor and create a unique set vitality vs toughness or power vs precision. I understand the concern with this is new players won’t get to enjoy pvp because they don’t have the gear.

That is why I suggest that all of the armor be available from the start. Just like we have a template for our sigils and runes, we should add separate armor and utility slots and be given the choice to choose what type of stats go in each piece.

Another thing I feel would be healthy for the game is improving the team-making system. I am not sure how teams are matched now, but a game that relies so heavily on team composition should not lose a match because they are a team with 2 thieves, a ranger and a mesmer.

I propose that when teams are being matched, their should be a requirement for 1 heavy, 1 medium and 1 light armor class on the team. The 2 unused team slots will be filled randomly. There is still a chance that even with this setup that a team could get a ranger mesmer and 2 thieves, however the chance of it happening dimish by requiring 3 slots be filled of each armor type.

Thats all I got for now. Feel free to tell my ideas are bad, or I’m bad in general. I know who plays pvp.

I do like the idea of replacing amulets with stats for individual pieces of armor to allow use to mix and match. +1

hmm

so you want pvp to have less restriction regarding personal character composition but more restriction regarding team composition

the 1st i agree with, apart from putting silly things like dire and nomad in pvp, cuz thats just gonna make another balancing nightmare.

but the 2nd.. well… even riot refuses to allow such a restrictive teambuilding process in league because while the meta is established theres no reason a different method cant work. and stifling the off-meta/countermeta creativity is akin to a lobotomy.

The second suggestion is soloq only. Teams can play whichever classes they want.

matchmaking already prioritizes placing different classes with each other in a team

the only reason you see 3-4 of 1 class on a team is cuz of the dailies
