Things that deteriorate pvp experience
The command queueing system needs to be tweaked too.
There are situations with a variety of abilities where, for example, you can get kb’d or something in the small window after you press the hotkey but before the client fully completes the action – resulting in the ability going off after you’ve been knocked out of position and consequently causing you to completely whiff whatever you were trying to do.
Really kittening annoying.
I wish they’d do two things -
1. Make any kind of interrupt clear out your ability queue.
2. Give us a slider to modify the queue latency or a toggle to disable the queue altogether (preferably both).
Poor targeting system, its just horrible. Many times I asked, make enemy targeting on RELEASE of mouse left button, not upon clicking enemy.
Target nearest enemy player; insted of all sorts of critters and animals. To not fully kitten mesmers, add clones and illusions count as “player”.
Less flashy effects. I want to PvP, not disco dance.
Thiefs dont need nerf on damage. they just need render bug fixed and pistolwhip rebuffed (at the moment pistolwhip is useless. auto attack is better)
Lets not mention everyone runs warrior now abusing bladetrail bug
i dnt see the point in weapon swap CD anyway since skills are on CD as long as they are.
removing CD on weapon swap entirely would bring a lot more skill in the game since we already have to deal with 30+ sec CD on utilities, and weapon skills also often leave you with autoatack only

I agree with the flaw in the targeting system.
Pets/Turrets/Minions should not be targeted by TAB. (With the exception of mesmer clones, no point in them otherwise)
I also agree with the ability queue and delay.
Often I immediately use my down skill after dieing because it was queued when I was alive. Not all “instant” skills are instant and have a slight delay which is quite noticeable when getting interrupted that moment you try to use them.
To the one defending thieves:
Thieves should not be able to burst down targets who can’t really defend themselves against this kind of burst. I’m speaking of the chained cloak & dagger and steal combo which you will always catch if you didn’t dodge by accident and the backstab which follows 0.2 seconds afterwards. Also dancing dagger is utterly broken and needs to be looked at.
I disagree, make tab target ignore clones. Frankly the only people mesmer tricks work on is new players, why should they be a new player bully?
Then you have to take into account they are balanced the the ‘tricks’ in mind that no longer work on experienced players.
Honestly their downed 2 is a joke if you know how it works. Real mesmer always pops out after the clone and has a thing over its head. Now that Ele got their downed fix they probably have the worst downed state in the game.
Alright, Paid Tournaments are out and with that, the update process of the game needs to get on a higher level.
Some stuff that has been in the game for a huge amount of time which should have been hotfixed a long time ago:
1* Guardian Mace Block Bug
2* Removing the Portal of the Mesmer and give it some other mobility skill (Mesmers
no longer required for competitive tournament play)
3* Ele on the enemy treb (You can’t kill the ele as fast as he kills the trebuchet)
4* Removing Quickness altogether (This game has a lot of burst already and does not need this)
5* Thief culling Issues and maximum burst of the class (C&D + Steal + Backstab / Dancing Dagger)
6* Weapon switching cooldown too long (should be maybe 1-2s on most classes, current system feels awkward)
7* Bunker builds that have no single counter (good against conditions, burst and continuous damage, includes all healing builds e.g. ele/guardian)
8* All the broken traits and skills (every class has plenty of them)
Numbered to make this simple
1. Legit bug and they know
2. Afaik its working as intended and its not OP outside of Wv3
3.Ill take this one as a joke. You can cc the ele like you could any other player. Ele also has weak burst I could down it faster on engi.

6. No where it is is fine. Any change would undermine weapon swap trait namely the warrior’s. Also if you did this thief would go OP in all builds. No cd + insta swap in battle. Very bad idea.
7. You make a valid point. The problem is it would pigeonhole us all into DPS if they nerf it too much more. This also speak to the fact that every game type at the moment is a point hold. Bunkers rule this by default. When more game types get mixed it it will change but atm your right bunker is a little much.
8. Don’t see that happening anytime soon but it should.
Tab targeting for clones is fine. Turrets also. These are all things you can destroy. It make no sense for the game to target a specific enemy for you. Click on them if you want precision.

TheGuy, manually clicking with your mouse over targets is slow and annoying way to target. Specially if you use mouse to rotate camera/your character and have keybinds on skills.
Game does not need to target spesific enemy for me, that would be absurd. World of Warcraft has done this brilliantly. It selects closest player but will not select closest player who is behind you or on your side, instead it will target person who is closest to you when your character is facing him. Its so good that when I play GW2 I curse targeting in this game.

This asap imo.
My top choice of what ruins pvp experience is pugs vs premades in free tournaments because when you meet a premade they are always using as many of the most overpowered builds possible on top of having communication. At least pug vs pug, each pug has a random chance of having, or playing against, an overpowered build. It’s not ideal, but it would at least be less unfair, and a step in the right direction to make PvP enjoyable for solo players who don’t enjoy the sPvP zerg fest.

Their down state 2 is a guaranteed “Dont get stomped” button, just like Ele now and Mostly thief (there are some ways around it, as opposed to Mes or Ele atm). There is no way to prevent them from successfully avoiding a stomp. It is in no way, shape, or form the worst in the game.

I actually really really like the OP. Congratulations, a post with concise, well worded complaints/suggestions, I am impressed.
Especially interested in the suggestion to reduce weapon switching time… That really isn’t something I have thought about, but I’m pretty sure I would appreciate it being shorter.
Here’s an interesting suggestion, instead of having quickness reduce the GCD in half, instead cut the individual cooldowns of every ability cast during the effects of “quickness” in half.
So making quickness the opposite of chill then? That would be interesting. Still would have the same “spam everything” impact for players though. I think it would be better if it was removed entirely and quickness abilities just got some other effect. Like just have frenzy be break stun, gain fury + adrenaline.

Well, considering that nothing would actually technically occur any faster, its not like it would increase of “spam”. Its even unlikely that the cooldown of an ability even cut in half would reduce it to the 4 seconds or so that quickness lasts.
I think it would have the effect of allowing damage to be more sustained instead of a high-peak burst. Which in turn would add a bit of strategy in both how to best make your damage peak (once or twice) and also how to deal with it as you would actually have an opportunity to respond.
to be honest qucikness is the only thing that allows direct damage rangers any use at all, removing it might balance thieves and warriors but for rangers its pretty necessary. to remove quickness the incomng ranger buffs would have to put direct damage ranger builds on par with thieves and warriors, that way if they do remove quickness it wont destroy Rangers completely
