This could very well be the end of pvp for most players who like diversity. The fact is anet has specifically and deliberately made no resistance to condition damage while adding condition duration stats to the game. Boon duration stats do not matter because boons do not counter conditions at all. A tank cannot out heal a full condition build simply because the sheer damage they release at once. The only counter is vitality and condition cleanse. The problem with that is classes who can’t fight condition builds are completely useless now. Reaper can hit up to 1.5k bleeds, chill, and poison. It can fear for 2k and burn for 2.5k and upwards. This creates a diverse meta but, it creates an unfair playing field for everyone. I main guardian and I do not have enough condi cleanse as a bunker to hold off any condition build. I am a medi guard for 2 years because that is all anet that has given to use that is viable for roaming and pvp. The condi cleanse cannot keep up with the conditions applied. This is creating a dangerous power creep just because they want to push “Hardcore Raids.” When in reality the raid boss we fought during the raid had I think 22 Million health. As a pvper that plays medi guard my base health for berserker amulet is around 11k. Against an increase chill cripple burning fear poison etc I would need to blow every cooldown I had if I came into a problem against a good player of equal skill. That knows when to burn and use that condi duration to their advantage. All I ask is take away boon duration and add a condition damage reduction stat. This is such a huge oversight.

Imho the added condition duration is totally useless for 95% of condi based builds. When playing a condi build your enemies are condi cleanses, your condis last for long enough

While your condi cleanse may not keep up with the conditions someone can apply to you in a 1v1, I guarantee that in a proper comp, they won’t be able to apply conditions to you faster than you AND all of your allies can cleanse eachother due to how much passive AoE cleanse is in this game.

You people won’t be happy until you take no damage at all from conditions.

i think its time to make weakness also affect condition damage similar to how it already affects power based damage. it makes all the sense in the world when you’ve already done the same for vulnerability.

CoP, smite, and VoRx2 isn’t enough cleanse? I wonder how every other class survives. Bunker guard usually run pure of voice and trooper runes, no? Read animations and avoid the obvious condi applications. For the ones with little to no condi application, then you use your cleanses. You seriously need to look at yourself and your build if you can’t bunker vs 1 person o.o…..

Resistance is a boon, lol. There is a stat to increase boon duration just like there is to increase condition duration.

Concentration= Boon duration.
Expertise= Condition duration.

Necro transfers condis, guard converts condis, thief cleanses in stealth, warrior has resist, rest of the other classes have normal condi cleansing methods that are common in most builds (aside from mesmer). Its not that difficult. The longer condi duration doesn’t make the condis hit any harder than they used to, it just means your dumb kitten gets rekt if you can’t cleanse those 1-3 conditions in 10-15 seconds (although I doubt they’re ever this high).
