Two people standing close on node with me being 1v2 far and ele being 1v3 in close. This depicts 3 people defending the node vs no one.

Sounds like a lack of communication. Far and home is viable but you have to agree with your team that that is the plan. Otherwise…it gets messy.

@Saerni, it very could be. But the thing is this; High platinum lately has been really bad lately compared to earlier in the season, or in S5. I just had a 10 game losing streak where like 9 of the games were lost by 100 points or less. Really unlucky day? Yes. But some of the factors that contributed to the loss were just completely preventable. I’m seeing rifle engis, rifle wars, core guards, MM necros, FA scepter eles, zerk mesmers, warhorn eles, d/d condi thieves, and p/p thieves. That was only for today, and off of my recent memory of like 15-20 games.

I actually dropped so low (from 1730 to 1560) that I was able to 1v2/3 as a d/p-dash thief, effectively hard-carrying the few games that ended my really unlucky and unfortunate losing streak. Now, I’m confident that I can easily climb back up, but there is no competition at the highest level of play right now. There’s people purposely treating it like unranked and running kittenty builds. I already bought a WoW account. I’m learning druid right now and the pvp in that game is not only more lively, but the infrastructure is just complete. GW2 combat is far superior than any other MMO, but its severely lacking in terms of competition right now. And people like me are leaving. S6 will be my last season unless Anet announces some sort of tournament.

Fair enough, although a top 150 Ish warrior was running a hybrid mace/shield rifle build that was devastating the other day. Wouldn’t discount it at high levels.

Don’t really get why people always come under the idea that they must have home. At lower skill levels its an easy way to tip the balance of a match, you flood their home and they spend heaps of resources trying to defend it, letting you easily capture your home and mid point.

You know, in retrospect, I was solo-qing for all those losses. It is also easter weekend… Soo..
