Anet, thank you so much for the new maps! they are really sweet and it’s great that they don’t have any gimmicky noob-attractors like skyhammer or spirit watch! We really appreciate that you’ve listened to our concerns!

Thank you so much as well for making new game-modes! After such a long, long time playing the same mode over and over (which, as you realized like we did, was somehow unable to be played properly by pve heroes) it is really refreshing to be able to new game-modes!

And thank you for actually putting in a tutorial that properly teaches pve heroes how to do well in each game-mode. Because, as you recognized, it’s terribly frustrating knowing what to do but having 3 useless pve heroes running around dying to the other team in no-man’s land.

And finally, thank you anet for addressing the common super boring face-roll builds that we all see played: decap engie, zoo necro, hambow warrior! It is great that you actually made it clear you don’t want pvp to become a game of 3 builds and who has the better latency. It really shows that you care and that you are determined to deliver a gaming experience that is complex, balanced, and enjoyable for people that care about it! It’s fantastic that you agreed with us that it’s not about the quantity of players, it’s the quality – and changing from trying to get every joe, kitten, and harry into pvp, instead, making a quality product that attracts players that LIKE pvp and play pvp games across the board was a fantastic idea as it provides a really organic and energetic environment and community to be involved with.

Once again, thanks Anet for taking the SPVP forum seriously and for replying to us and giving us what we, the players/customers/consumers, want.

And the biggest favor of all, of course, is not adressing the 4v5 matches. Out of the 8 games I’ve played yesterday and today, 2 were balanced – in terms of number of players, at least. Today: 3 matches, 3x 4v5. Yeah… I’ve got my daily, think I’ll quit now.

Lame.

No offense but if your unhappy take a break from the game. When you buy a bad game for your Xbox or Playstation do you keep playing it? NO! You move on to a new game or take a break. MMO’s especially I think its very healthy to take a break when the game is effecting you. Complaining and writing posts about how stuff sucks especially without any constructive feedback is just damaging to the community. Its great to read posts that have feedback and good suggestions for solving the issues and then engaging others to talk about it with a constructive and open mind. Problem is we don’t do that here on the forums very often. Mainly all I read is how I hate this and remove this. All is not vain and if you feel it is “take a break”

Also thanks Anet for the reward! PvPers are walking with FOTM backpieces, legendaries and other shiny weapons! While the PvErs are having 0 gold and easy obtainable skins!

Nope! Only with the ability to ridicule a game that, 2 years in, still hasn’t put up basic pvp infrastructure and multiple pvp modes, yet ‘aspired’ for espawts before it was even released!

I have watched the “Ready ups” the Anet team is doing each week on Twich. There are episodes where they talk about the new game types and maps they are working on. In one episode they even show some of these maps. Just be patient or take a break and check back in later in the summer.

New map(S) and new mode(S) ? I only see one new map and one mode attached to it.

I love the new map it is great for had day at the office pvp :P It is fairly simple to get in and a lot of fun. Still i think sometimes its to one way banking because of the dodgeball resurrection rule.

Actually you are incredibly wrong about this one. At the beginning it is all about quantity. Every successful title proves that. Only with a huge playerbase you can evolve quality at some point so at the current state of PvP I 100% agree that they should focus on quantity. This is also why at the end of the day f2p IS a good model if done right, you can say what you want.

At the beginning it is all about quantity.

I don’t think, GW2 is still “at the beginning”.
In the actual beginning, of GW2, there was a big pvp playerbase, but everybody left, cuz ANet did nothing to sustain the playerbase.
Not regarding the rare balance changes and the rework of rewards and ranks, we only have 4 more maps, from whom exactly 1(temple) is accepted on a competitive level.

And it will happen again. With the latest patch, Anet has brought a lot of players into PvP again and probably some veterans back, but as soon as the PvE players got their balthazar backpiece and maybe the rank / title of their desire, they will be gone again.

You might also discount the current player sizes. What’s better? 1 million of pvp players for 1 month, until everybody has what he came for, or 100.000 players for 2 years, who play the game, since it is fun?

Actually, most of my posts (on gwguru pvp section) were serious, and I found about about the balance forums way too late. Trollin became a thing only after GW2 came out. And even then, I did do serious posting for a long while (cuz ‘potential’ and all).
Moreover, QQ forums are just kitten now anyway.

On a side note, I can’t believe they removed silvermember’s brain fart about bullies! amagad anet how could you do dat, i was gonna post such an awesome retort, but you banned me you bullies. ):
